Comment:
Absolutely the worst professor I had at Waterloo. I completely agree with the other comments that she is horrible at lecturing and is the most irrational, flighty person. She is not willing to admit that she has made a mistake. I called her on an answer being incorrect on a test (with text book proof) and she basically called me a liar...wtf?!?!

horrible lecturer. she seems to know her stuff, but at midterm/exam time she puts some questions which are 1. tricky 2. strangely worded (tricky again) 3. HARD! material in the class was so boring...and for those who aren't geography majors, she either doesn't pay attention to you at all nor gives any basic geography concepts to help you out... agh

Comment:
Guelke's lecture's are terrible. She doesn't say anything concrete and doesn't know how to stimulate class discussion. The material and course readings are interesting, but the readings aren't well integrated into lectures. don't skip classes because 14% of the mark is on attendence and participation.

She's very nice but most of the material isn't worth wasting your tuition money on. It was basically a mixture of common sense, opinions and randomness. If you hate groupwork, stay away. It was an easy class though.

She obviously knew what she was talking about, but had trouble making clear arguments. Asked the class a lot of rhetorical questions and rarely provided answers. I liked the course though.

This course wasn't "gender and the environment"; it was about "women and random places". The prof likes to laugh like a little school girl in the middle of sentences, which makes her sound uncredible. Not only that, but I attended the classes and couldn't understand what was her point.

Don't be fooled by her flaky, innocent, techno-phobe grandma-like act -- she is malicious and out for blood! Do not attempt to suggest new, original ideas...she will trash them and stomp on your dignity. Totally stiffles creativity and paralyzes you by destroying your confidence. Mean Jeanne.

Yes-TAs do mark hard-I hate the idea of TAs when they will obviously mark differently since there are 4 of them. She didn't know how to get the class' attention or respect,we didn't take her seriously.Replies well to e-mails though. Class was interesting.
