What an amazing teacher! She is super understanding and gives amazing feedback, but it does take her awhile to grade. She understands that this is not your only class and doesn't require a lot of homework. She was very nice and works with you if you have questions! Definitely would take again.

Asynchronous class plus a brief suspension of the UF200 classes. She was okay, just assigned a LOT of writing assignments and was strict with high word counts on most of them.

She is an amazing professor who is very understanding. If you are going to be late on an assignment, just email her and she will seriously give you another week to complete the assignment. Just communicate with her, she understands that life happens sometimes. Best experience with a professor. TAKE HER COURSE!

She cancels class sometimes due to a medical condition but I loved that. She takes a little while to grade things and gives an M or C. Her assignments are not too bad and I never really had that much homework which I was grateful for. A super nice lady who gives great feedback on papers.

Class was hard. It was nothing like high school English where I wrote papers the night before. Grading was different. It was a contract where you choose how hard you work for what grade instead of points. She gave feedback on big papers, both comments and checklist. It was a ton of extra work for an A, but I definitely feel I earned it.

Wasn't super prepared through the entire semester. Nice cause we got to work on papers and stuff in class and deadlines were pushed, and she explains things really well once she knows what we're doing. Cancels class more often than most. I'd take her 101 again but not 102 (she flat out said it would be hard).

She is the most confusing teacher I have ever had. I have never rated a professor before, but I thought I should warn everyone! DONT take a class with her. Shes a walking contradiction and doesnt even know what shes looking for when grading your assignments. Shes too lazy to give you an actual percentage and like kindergarten gives an M or C

Dont take English 102 from her if you do anything! She cancels class 5 minutes before it is suppose to start. She is never prepared for class & you will spend class periods doing pointless things like creating a rubric for a project because she forgot to make one. She doesnt explain things clearly &contradicts herself constantly!

Comment:
Do not recommend her for a professor, she cancels class then gets upset if the work isn't done correctly. She also doesn't explain the projects when she does show up to assign them and gets very passive aggressive if it's not done how she specifically wants it. Her behavior is unprofessional, and I regret not listening to her reviews.

She is possibly the worst English teacher I've ever had. She's rude, doesn't explain anything to students and just expects everyone to understand all her complicated lessons. I went to her office hours for about 3 weeks straight, in which she helped me while I was writing an essay for her. I felt super confident, then she still gave me a bad grade.

She will cancel class, but I admire how real she is. She acts like a human, and is very understanding. Turn your papers and projects in on time, and you will pass.

It's an easy class as long as you do all the assignments, and put some effort into them. There's only 3 essays you have to write and a podcast, and some small assignments. She cancels class fairly often, and you can miss class 5 times before you lose points. She cares a lot about her students success, and gives opportunities to better your grade.

Literally so easy. Good extra credit opportunities for the course evaluation and if you go for office hours once. There is only 3 big writing assignments and the last one is just a revision of one of the 2 you did before. You get 50 points for attendance if you don't miss more than 5 times. So easy.

Very specific with what she wants as an answer and won't mark you anything more if you don't give what she wants. Quiz's are tough and sometimes a little ridiculous.

She's a nice teacher, don't get me wrong but she cancels class all the time. I signed up for Eng 102 at 9:00 am and I drive all the way from Caldwell to Boise. Waits last minute to post email about cancelled class. It's week 8 into the semester and she hasn't posted any grades on Blackboard. It's supposed to remain a mystery if you pass or fail...

Cancelled class so often I began to count on it being cancelled so I could spend time doing other things. While I don't mind teachers cancelling class usually, this was excessive, and I paid money for very little in terms of learning. At the end of the semester a sub came in and taught for the rest of the term, and they were a much better teacher.

Garawyn was an easy teacher for UF 200. She made an online class interesting and easy to follow week by week. She gave us a lot of freedom when discussing a week's topic through Blackboard. She replied to emails fast and made sure students were up to date with what materials we needed to know. Only problem was slow grading, but very minor.

SUPER helpful. Will give you great, honest and understandable feedback. Your final grade is a portfolio of three essays that you spend the whole semester forming. She reads them and responds throughout the semester. All homework has a purpose and it's helpful. She is extremely clear of exactly what she wants. No BS. Loved the class.

Garawyn was an amazing English teacher! She knew what she was talking about, and she only did activities that were actually beneficial to the students. She is super understanding to the students, and the work load is very reasonable. The final is 3 essays that you spend the entire semester forming.
