The prof is not good teacher, nor a kind one. He did not give us any marks back on stuff for a month after we did them, while the other prof gave them back after a week. He also doesn't give us info about what to expect on quizzes n stuff. Luckily his quizzes in the beginning were easier but you dont get the knowledge you need for the exam.

The exams are extremely hard and are set up to have a low avg. Did not get most of my test and assignment marks until after the final exam and is never approachable

You can barely understand a word he says. Lectures don't flow, they're absolutely not worth going to. Better to study on your own - make sure you don't fall behind. People say this is the hardest course in MechEng, for good reason. Basically just try to pass.

By "Be ready to read" I mean, of course, the textbook because this man will not teach you ANY of the content in an effective OR timely manner. His lectures are all over the place and he will never finish a train of thought. When he's not stumbling over his notes, he's flashing a laser pointer into the audience's eyes. Get the textbook (PDF or not).

Absolutely terrible. You have to go to class to hand in your assignments. Jumps from topic to topic and doesn't really finish his thoughts often times.

A fantastic professor, however he is unable to teach or communicate. Easy midterms but BRUTAL final

Not the best prof. His lectures are very dull and he often skips a lot of content. Although I did find his end of semester review to be helpful. Be sure to get a decent dynamics book and take advantage of tutorials. His quizzes/assignments/midterms are all quite easy, but the exam is another story.

TAKE HIM AS YOUR PROF FOR MEC 311! but go to Bill's Lectures. Even though Hua Lu has really bad teaching skill, his midterms are super easy (you can get 80+%). It makes the difference between passing or failing .

He could be the best researcher in the world but he is the worst prof and thats all that really matters. Don't take his class. You can't understand a word he says and you'll only get confused during his lectures. His midterms are easy but you'll get destroyed on the final.

He is a knowledgeable person but a horrible instructor. However, his lecture delivery is of such quality that less than 1% of the class attended his lecture. I must say he has some quality, the quality to make students sleep. If you are unfortunate enough to have him, get your textbook and start teaching yourself and pray for your exams.

Tenure is his saving grace. Professor Hua Lu is a knowledgeable and respected researcher, but he is also a confused and incomprehensible instructor. Attendance is lecture is remarkable, with maximum 7-9 students during lecture from a 150+ course registry. I recommend buying the book, do your homework, read every chapter, and pray. Good luck.

I think that he is a genius at what he teaches. You do not even have to go to class from what he says. I think I might drop out of engineering now just to become a Dynamics major like him. I failed the course but he still gave me an A+ because he was cool. His English is AMAZING.

He's a very lazy prof, and even told us that this a course that can be skipped, because you can easily learn it on your own. Due to the nature of the course, it is possible, but going to class is still worthwhile because he goes over information that is not available in the custom-printed textbook. Be sure to make good use of his office hours.

Alright the contest is over, give this man the Worst Prof At Ryerson Award. Firstly he needs to attend several years of ESL classes, he can't communicate for****. The course itself is tough and his tests are a****.

This guy is seriously struggling. It is hard to read his notes and hard to understand him.He likes to skip steps assuming we all are aware of what he is doing in class. It is pointless to go to his class unless you need a good nap, want your assignments back,or you want to ask about the upcoming test.
