Comment:
Mark Bils is a real genius in Economics. He is very smart and full of passion for this subject. However, his lecture is sometimes confusing. He recommends a textbook (which is a very nice book) but the materials he taught are all in his lectures. And the lectures become confusing after 10-15 minutes. The exams are easier than the lectures tho.

Professor Bils is a very smart man, but it doesn't translate to the classroom. Lectures are extremely confusing and will leave you lost after 10 minutes. Exams count for 96% percent of your grade, and they aren't easy. Wouldn't recommend.

Very smart and interesting professor but not as accessible as he should be considering the difficulty of the material. would definately take again but make sure you put in the work on your own before going to class or you may struggle keeping up with the material.

Two tips to get an A: 1 - Read the material BEFORE the class. You'll get infinitely more out of it. 2 - Exams tough? Instead of thinking theory-to-data, think data-to-theory.

Not engaging. His tests weren't that hard, but failed to really narrow down the topics so lots of material. Keep on top of readings and you'll be fine .

Grading was ridiculous. Tests were out of 25 pts, then quadrupled. A 2-3 pt math error on your test would move you from an A to a C+ Lectures were unclear and jumped around a lot

Comment:
His class was agonizing on a good day. His questions come out of left field, hence a 30/50 is a B. I worked way harder in this class than I should've given that it's an intro class with no prior knowledge necessary. He was pompous and rude in office hours and I would never take a class of his again and discourage friends who ask my opinion.

His lectures are incredibly boring and too general, as his test questions are very specific. He is not helpful at all. This class discouraged me from being an econ major.
