Prof. D is a sweet woman. She has a 6-10 page term paper, but allows for revisions throughout the semester so that you can get the highest possible grade that you can on it. She is very caring and understanding and will reach out to you if you're struggling. She will go off on a tangent, but it created a more personal environment in my opinion.

I enjoyed Dr. Dwyer, its just that critical thinking as a subject was terrible for me. I did not take on going to her office hours which I highly suggest, because critical thinking is very unclear to me. When you think you are right you are wrong, when you think you are wrong you are right. No textbook but there is this thing called mindtap, trash

Comment:
Dr. Dwyer is exceptionally insecure. She is hostile to feedback of any kind (e.g. "I think there is more than one correct answer to this question") and will not even read such feedback, though she requests it. She also does not seem to care about whether her students succeed so long as they respect her authority. It's all about her.

Comment:
Dr. Dwyer definitely has a lot of knowledge to share, and I'd always come to class interested in what she had to say. If she goes off topic, it's bc she's telling a story, but I was always amused by them! She gives you several chances to make your final paper a good one, so take advantage of that! If you don't read, class won't be as interesting...

Dr. Dwyer is a very eccentric professor. A lot of the class was just lecture based. She doesn't know how to function a computer other than simple emailing, so be prepared to look for all things in an email. Her lectures are very confusing. She goes off into random stories and forgets what she was talking about. She is not very good.

Very fair with grading, is based on improvement instead of prior knowledge. Going to class is a must as she does not post anything online, but she is very accessible by email. I recommend her class.

I have her right now and she's a pretty cool professor. I'm taking PHIL 1010 and all the tests are open note and book. You have to literally be the laziest person in the world to at least not get a B.

I really don't know what class these other people took with Dr. Dwyer, but I immediately signed up for another class with her. She is fantastic... people who say the class was boring probably didn't care for the subject. She is very knowledgeable, helpful, and a great lecturer (so many fascinating tidbits). Take her class if you aren't apathetic.

People who complain about Dr. Dwyer's class are bitter because they made poor grades. Her tests are open book, open notes. She gives a lot of opportunity for improvement. There are 2 big tests and an essay, but she also gives homework and reading quiz grades. If you did not make at least a B in her class you just didn't put forth any effort.

She is very bad. You basically have two heavily weighted tests and a paper. She actually made me hate philosophy. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy.

for those of you who don't like dwyer, you should try to avoid any philosophy that isn't required. if you have to take a class with her, don't ask stupid questions, read the assignments, adn be prepared. she will help, but you have to show her that you want it.she epects adults as students, not whining babies.

For the person who said her class wasn't good did not apply him/herself. The class is hard but she does work with you on your reports to make sure you do well. This class made me realize the importance of ethic in business today. Great teacher!
