Was funny at times. He's a character, Cleaver is. I enjoyed his classes sometimes. Love the comment box. Tests are pretty easy; the final was the only hard one. Seems like a good guy. Apparently he plays World of Warcraft.

I always looked forward to coming to Cleaver's Class. He is very entertaining and takes his time to make sure he is very clear. His exams are quite difficult, but as long as you pay attention in class and do the problems the recomends you should do fine. Very nice guy and easily approachable.

He gives you what you need, but I would agree that this class is by no means "introductory". To have this class either maintain or improve your average, you're going to have to be either really smart, or have 12 credits and no extra curricular activities. Between class, labs, night tests, reviews, homework, WebCT, and studying, you have no life.

Cleaver gives you everything you need to sudceed in his class - you just have to work hard to do it. He gives you the exams from last year which are extremely similar to the exam he gives you (different questions but same concepts). You do have to spend a lot of time figuring stuff out on your own but seriously people - that's college.

I agree completely with the last person who commented. The class is called INTRODUCTORY chemistry, yet he assumes we already know everything. I kept my chem review book from high school and I use that when I need an explanation. Cleaver is useless.

Cleaver presents the information as if everyone already knows what he has to say. He never stops to clarify a point before he moves onto the next. Cleaver is arrogent and unhelpful, and has designed his course, and exams, for people who have already mastered chemistry, not people who are learning it. Stay away unless you already know chemistry!

Many good students dreams of going to an American Medical School have been washed down the drain thanks to this professor. His intent on all exams was to trick you. ANd most of all material covered on the final will be something you've never seen before. If you want to go to grad/med school AVOID hthis guy. There is another.
