Such a sweet man. Only five, three page papers the whole semester. He is a very easy grader. Brought in a lot of inspirational guest speakers and got snacks once a week. Deep discussions and illustrated a lot of topics seen from different perspectives.

Easy A class, but I felt that this course was a waste for me to attend. Jesus is very nice and understanding, but there were some videos that he showed that was both violent and disturbing. Highly recommend taking this course online if offered or if you need extra units and an easy course take this class. You are required to state your opinion.

He is so old now that we worried about his health all semester. His class is easy, with around 7-8 papers to write, all about "Cultural Plunges" (or events that you may or may not participate in). Can kind of make things up as you go along, but he a such a caring guy that you don't really want to lie. He's nice and a good person, not great prof.

I wish i read his reviews before taking this class. His classes feel like they are being improvised. I learned nothing from this class. He's a sweet man, with his heart in the right place, but i learned nothing i didn't already know. Class is literally just sit in a circle, go around and talk about your feelings.

He is the most amazing professor I have ever met at SDSU. This class is amazing, he really cares for all of his students and really expands your views on topics going around in the world today. He's very compassionate, loving, and very insightful. I'm not an education major but I recommend everyone of all majors to take this class.

DONT take this professor if you want to learn. I lasted one day in the class and had physical anxiety symptoms because of how awful & creepy he was. He droned on about himself, his very personal medical problems and his life story. Things NOT related to the class subject. Younger people might think this is inspiring, but no thanks. Take it online.

The class itself was super easy. The plunges were definitely eye opening, and people often shared touching stories. Other than that, the class isn't much and Jesus isn't the best teacher. You don't learn anything else besides stories that you hear. Jesus is also a bit strange and isn't all he's cracked up to be...

One of the BEST professors at State! He is so compassionate and caring about every human being. work consists of 1 (1) page Social Activism "Project." 4 (3) page cultural plunges. 1 (1-2) page Media Watch. 1 research project report that you write on an index card. You also talk about your opinions&experiences with different cultures. TAKE HIM!!!

The class is extremely easy. Show up to class and write the super easy/small papers to get an A. *HOWEVER* I wasn't a fan of the class & I was actually a little disappointed w/ the content of the course. We literally sat in a circle & talked about our feelings among a potluck...I got NOTHING from this course. Take the course online if you can.

Nieto was by far my favorite teacher at SDSU. His class was inspirational and makes learning a human experience again. Participation is important because the class is more of a discussion than a lecture and even when there is a special guest speaker I promise you will be hanging on the edge of your seat listening their inspirational stories.

Only 5 days of class mandatory to attend. Very simple assignments worth 40% such as a 2-3 min Research Project Report on a controversial topic and a Cultural Plunge to get you to feel different cultures. The other 50% of the class is making sure you have good remarks on your Teacher Evaluations. Much less work than ED-201

If you want an easy class then this is a class for you. If you are taking it for the teacher credential program then take the other teacher. The only thing I learned in this class were conspiracy theories, had nothing to do with teaching in a classroom with people of different backgrounds and cultures. Class is pointless but attendance mandatory

Great professor. He just wants to open your mind and heart. If you are open to the experience, you will meet and make friends with drug addicts, homeless people, individuals with disabilities, & classmates from the opposite side of the political spectrum. This class is all about the experience and bettering yourself as a human being and a teacher.
