His MBA accounting course was easier than the 2 I took in my undergrad. Read the textbook/lectures if you want to understand the material. He tries his best to help non-accounting MBA students. I have never done well in accounting and he curved my C to a B). Weekly hw, 2-part Tableau project, 2 hw cases, and 2 exams

literally weighted a summer class as 10% homework's, 10% quizzes, and then the two exams you have were 40% each. The last exam had nothing to do with the review, quizzes or homeworks, it was based off of a video we weren't required to watch. This class has brought my gpa down, so thanks professor, really helped me out for law school.

Nice guy, but his tests are harder than they should be. Most of the time, they are not like the practice problems. I took this class as a 5 week; DONT DO IT. My 4.0 ACCT GPA GONE because his tests were harder than he made them seem. He "helps" by giving hints in the lectures, but are sometimes not there. Also, his "curves" are usually 1 point.

This course was one of my fav in the program. The course covers topics that give greater insight and understanding of managerial acct in the business world. The group proj were what I liked least. But I enjoyed the discussions and feedback, which were thoughtful and constructive. Prof Wilner is an extremely supportive + positive student advocate.

Hes a really great professor, he cares and wants you to do well. His lectures are easy to understand. I had an A in his class until we had to move online, although he taught well online, online is not for me. If you participate and attend class, he will work with you.

His class is tough, but he teaches you what you need to know for the exam. He tries to make it as simple as possible and is always willing to answer questions. He really cares for his students and is good at keeping you updated. Beware of his final exam though, its stupid hard.

Dr. Wilner is great! He provides great detail on the topic, will cover it again if you don't understand, interjects humor throughout the class and always makes himself available. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wilner.

Weekly analysis papers over articles that are really easy, as long as there are no grammatical errors you will get full credit. Participation points every class, just read the weekly articles and provide input to the weekly discussion to get full credit. 2 tests; both are 4 open ended questions that you can take at home. 3 group projects

Wilner gives out 2-3 articles per week. You read them and do a write up on each. Lots of reading and writing. Exams are essay questions based on articles. Couple other group assignments. Lectures spent discussing articles, participation is a must. I learned a lot in this class, and it wasn't super hard.

If you're going to take him for the summer class, be sure you make a really good grade on the first test! It was super easy (where more than half the class got As or Bs) but the second test was terrible and only 2 people got As and 6 people got Bs (out of 50). He gives you a practice test to review, so be sure you know how to do that & the hws.

Cost is a tough! Prof Wilner is very fair. He will answer questions and go over HW problems in class. The video lectures are helpful too for review or revisit a specific problem. Wouldn't recommend watching the video in lieu of attending lecture. Ex credit + HW super easy. Text not req, but you need Access. Practice all of problems to do well!

He is an amazing professor. He does detailed step-by-step workings of practice problems in class. The exam is exactly what he goes over in class. All you have to do is try a little to succeed. The fastest way to do so is to go to class, sit in front and follow through his lecture. He uploads videos of his lecture on blackboard if you miss class.

Regret taking it. It's an MBA class; we wasted more time on ridiculous group projects & papers (lots of effort for a point or two) than all of my academic career combined. Adds no value to the material & you don't have time to do HW, read material, & study for his cryptic exams. 3 terrible profs in 2 FT semesters: rethinking my MBA at UNT.

Mr Wilner is the worst teacher I've ever come across. UNT is supposed to have a respectable masters program, but with him leading the Accounting department, I'm honestly re-evaluating my education at the UNT. For the ACCT 5130, or any other class that Mr Wilner teaches, I highly suggest you take the class online. EXAMS ARE ALL TRICK QUESTIONS!

Professor Wilner's class is my favorite in my master's degree. The class is discussion based, and he is open minded to any opinion. He is very smart and helpful. Be ready to discuss and lead discussions. I finished the course with a different perspective of cost. If you like cost, this class is a must.

Don't buy the text book! (at least not for a summer class) He covers all the material in class, and works out problems, which is nice for taking notes. I love a class where the professor is doing the work as well, so you have time to actually take the notes. Minimal, open ended tests, but he gives partial credit.

The assignments that are given are helpful for the test, but the tests have curve balls that you will not be expecting. They are all work-out problems and take problem-solving skills to work through. He grades with partial credit, so you won't end up missing everything if you mess up. Ask questions in class because he can be revealing about tests.
