Randy is an awful professor, avoid if possible. Randy refuses to use basic technology even to simply post his syllabus online, took forever to respond to anything electronic, and his tests are very difficult and not clear.

Randy marks incredibly tough, and is not afraid to give marks like 0.2/1. No notes are ever posted online so attendance is mandatory. Avoid if possible.

Difficult marker, tests are incredibly hard. I will never take another class from him again. his marking system is complicated. You will get .01 on assignments, or ranging between .05-..09

Randy is a good prof & explains the material very thoroughly. The only thing is that he reads from a paper and doesn't show it via slideshow, or post online. This makes the class extremely difficult only b/c he speaks fast and its hard to write down everything. Tests are difficult b/c he expects way too much and will give you 0.1%. GIVE EXAMPLES!!!

Expects way too much of his students (for a 200 level class), gives harsh feedback, delivers dull lectures, gives tough tests, and doesn't use URCourses (or technology, such as email at all for that matter). I will NEVER take another class again from him. Serious GPA killer.

Away from class, he seems nice enough. Extremely arrogant though. DEMANDS a lot from students-it's so far above high expectations that it's disgusting. Good feedback on papers, but too little too late. You NEED to go to class & you NEED to read the text. Hard to understand questions on midterms & finals. Bust your ass & hope for a D. NEVER AGAIN!

Bless your soul if you have Randy as a prof. Horrible lectures. Expects you to know everything he says and write down every single sentence. No power points and does not use UR courses. If you miss a class, good luck. Uses the textbook to make questions on exams but does not talk about the textbook or readings once throughout the whole semester.

Randy knows his stuff, but he expects you to know it all too. Interesting topic, but a lot to learn, and he doesn't post anything. His tests are very difficult mainly because he wants you to include things that aren't asked for on the tests, so if you only do what the questions ask for you'll fail. He is a fair marker on papers though.

This was a very difficult class. Randy is clearly a very knowledgeable person but struggles to present the material in a manner that encourages learning. He uses slides for lectures but you must listen to him and take notes which can be very difficult at time. The material covered is very interesting but is extremely overwhelming.

You either like this guy or not. Im barely passing his class. He is a tough marker that sometimes you wanna cry at your marks. Otherwise on of the best classes EVER this guy knows his stuff!! and he is hilarious! You learn allot of interesting things. Would i take his class again?Nope its a killer to your GPA.

Well, he's a nice enough guy. I'm a 4the year student and never have I worked harder in a 1st year class. After 4 years of paper writing, he tells me I need to go to get writing help because my writing is awful. How did I make it this far?? Tests are tough, make sure you really, really know your stuff. As a 4th year prof? Maybe. 1st year? Too hard.

i came on here and was scared when i read all the comments about randy. he is a nice guy and while he may be a little full of himself he is a really funny guy who isnt nearly as bad as some people on here make him out to be. marks really hard and expects a lot but whatever, its university we cant expect an easy ride

Avoid the course.I will never take another course from the Geography dept. again because i did not learn anything i wanted to learn. The man was arrogant and not very helpful. He made some things more complicated than they really needed to be.His exams are quite hard. The textbook was overpriced and not very usefull.

Randy expects a lot and is a hard marker. I think this is because he knows people are capable of doing more than the bare minimum and expects them to 'give it their all' in his class.
