The lectures are very long and repetitive. She constantly repeats herself week after week. She doesn't know how to use photoshop or D2L and cant help students when they need it. She grades largely based no her personal opinion.

Professor Rumfield is a very nice lady and tries her best. However she can barely work Photoshop or d2l. Lectures are painstakingly long and repetitive week to week. the exams she gives are impossibly specific about things that aren't covered or just touched on in class. I love taking pictures but this class was more work that it was worth .

By far, the worst teacher I have ever had. Teaches photography with lecture, rereading slides from powerpoint. Very little practicum. hundreds of documents to read that she can't even keep track of. Terrible listener, completely disconnected from the students... put it this way, "OK Boomer." WCU needs to drastically overhaul its digital educators.

Lectures are long, boring, and pointless. She struggles to explain things clearly. Will repeatedly go over same materials even if you've done it for the last 4 classes. She CANNOT explain anything but Photoshop basics, I had a question and she literally said I don't know and walked away from me. Grades Based on her opinion not your creativity. Sad.

shes nice but should not be allowed to teach this class. she barely knows whats going on let alone her students. has 300+ documents on d2l and then asks why we dont look at them. it isnt even about photography its literally just messing around in photoshop. the assignments did not allow for any creativity and her grading was harsh for not explainin

For this class it's really long for no reason. But to be honest, those other comments are really on her. She is really caring. I was out for medical reasons and family reason and she helped me a whole lot with grading and teaching. Being in class is mandatory because you miss a whole lot if you're out.

Please dont take this class. Shes nice but the worst Professor I have ever had. If you want to learn about photography take a class at the local community center. Took this class for fun and put a lot of work into it and it messed up my GPA. I am a straight A student and have taken a lot of photography classes and got a B in the class.

She generally is a cool person, but a horrible professor in my opinion. She made photography so not enjoyable and 2 1/2 hour lectures were awful. It is very easy to fall behind in this class so make sure you do the work. She is also a very hard grader and is not afraid to call your photos crap.

Please. Do not take this class with Dr. Rumfield. She is a nice lady but her classes are so long and boring. You don't even get to photograph in class. Half of my class had no idea how to even use a camera and she barely taught us one thing about it. Although she does allow resubmissions and is pretty lenient with grading, it is not worth it.

Classes are dreadfully long and very boring, If you understand the basics of photography it isn't hard. She is a very nice lady and will help you out on projects and assignment. Be ready to take lots of photos on the weekend and come in outside of class time to develop and print photos.

It's true Professor Rumfield can talk for days on end, but she truly is one of the most genuine professors I have had yet. She is very knowledgable in photography and is more than willing to help you with your assignments. She allows resubmissions of photos and offers extra credit, she'll even have candy in class sometimes. Loved this class!

Nancy is a great artist, but a horrible teacher. No one knew when assignments were due, or even what the assignments were. She is disorganized and scatter brained, but a really sweet lady. I had been doing photography for a while so I was fine, but if you don't know photographic terms already- good luck!

She made a subject that I once was interested in something I DREADED. Her organizational skills killed it all, she may be knowledgable but I was taught nothing!! Very disappointed with the class. Not worth the time and effort at all. She spent half of our valuable class time talking about none related things.

Do NOT recommend to anyone, spends more time talking about herself and her affinity for cats than anything else. She made a point of making it clear that she was a doctor and will not respond to Ms. Rumfield, give me a break. Takes forever to grade, loves brown nosers, only gives advice if you are a favorite, not worth three months of your life.

I am not sure this professor takes any criticism of herself or her methods of teaching very seriously. She incessantly does not make projects clear, is not clear about due dates, favors students arbitrarily, has a weird attitude about certain topics. Gives you a sarcastic smile when she disapproves of your work, which is pretty silly, it is art.

She is HORRIBLE. I wish more people wrote that on here before I took the class! I am going into graphic design once I graduate, and with no help to her. She assigns one thing, has you open it and start working and before you know it (literally seconds later) she is talking about another assignment that is due at the same time. BOO to her.

She is great! She very much wants you to learn and pass, I'm not very good with computers and she explained things very patiently and numerous times for me. She also appreciates involvement so I recommend speaking up in her classes!

Her class was a real struggle for me. You really have to keep reviewing the textbook she gives exams that cover alot of the book and that was my downfall. Doesn't really like to help students she wants you to figure it out on your own. As long as you try hard and she sees that you put effort into it you should be fine.

has no clue how to use the programs she is teaching, much less how to teach in general. it's the end of the semester and she has yet to return a single grade, OR a comprehensible prompt for any of the exercises she assigns. good luck!
