Comment:
Maller is very intelligent. He has a positive vibe since he always has a smile and likes to integrate fun facts into his lectures. I wouldn't say he is mean, but he can come off as a little rude if you disrupt him or whatever. He gives optional practice HWs every class, extra credit Webassigns due every other week, 3 tests and a final - all curved.

Easiest exams I ever had! He still gives A if you do well on the final, even you did poorly on other exams, but the final is harder. The exams are short and simple. He gives the easiest and basic questions on every type of problems. Who care about his quality of teaching, everything is online that you can practice for.

Professor Maller is very knowledgeable as is evident by the manner in which he attempts to relate calculus to the real world. While he's quite a captivating lecturer, Maller teaches and explains concepts at a much higher level than we (undergrad. students) could understand. My advice: learn the material on YouTube and let the class be a review!

Comment:
Professor Maller has a mastery over mathematics, and is excited to convey his knowledge to students. However, I believe he struggles to gage what students do not understand and cannot teach in a way which enables students to learn. Maller is friendly and knowledgable, but I learnt very little even though I tried very hard. Asking q's doesn't help.

Very clear accessible professor. GO TO his office hours he is so helpful. Reviews problems every class. The tests are fair and doable. He curves them all depending on the class average. He will work with you! He understands students can have a bad day on test day. I ended up with a B- because I did poor on the final. It was 100% my fault I ace it.

Lectures for 20-25 mins and the remainder of the period does problems. 2 exams and a final (all curved) and problems are computational. Gives review sheets as well. As long as you show you get the idea of a problem, he'll give you credit. Know your integration inside-out and be prepared to do a lot of practice. Prof. Maller isn't out to get you.

Dr. Maller is a nice professor. He's willing to go over homework, even has review i/o of class. In order to do well with him, practice is key (do several examples). His grading is based on a curve. One test he converts an 80 to an A- and a 40 to a C-. 5 questions per exam (obviously there's one that'll screw you up). Otherwise I recommend him.

He's a cute guy and very sweet, but his teaching skills are severely lacking. For me at least. Plus attendance isn't optional, so I had literally no motivation.

Nice guy, but hard to understand his teaching. He gives both online(webassign) and written homework, but only gives grade for webassign. The written homework is for practice. He goes over the written in class if you ask him to and he'll try and help you. Lectures are unorganized, and spends most of the time just going over written homework.

This is calc, not an easy class for most people. He gives easy tests and goes over the HW. He doesn't teach clearly, rather he does the problems and you watch. If you ask how he got from one step to another, he WILL explain, but isn't very clear. He cares a lot about his students and is an easy grader. He is very interesting and I really enjoyed.

STEER CLEAR. This class aggravates me so much. He is unclear, go way too fast, has TERRIBLE handwriting that you dont understand what he's writing. I had to teach myself everything because he is too confusing and can't teach. tests are OK, and that's IF you studied A LOT. im a math major & now im reconsidering because of this class.

I really don't understand why he has so many bad reviews. He really cares about his students, and he will go over something if you don't understand it. He is one of the few teachers who actually CARES about his students. But don't expect an A if you are not willing to do the work...

If your not too good at math I wouldn't suggest you take him. The problem with him is that he is hard to understand and his writing is illegible.

I just love this guy. This is 152 and you just can't expect an easy A without doing anything! He is a good professor, so pay attention to class and do the homeworks. His exams have extra credits too, he is an easy grader and gives you partial points for your methods even though you couldn't finish the math. Work a little and you will get an A.

He is a disgusting man! Horrible teacher!! He speeds through every little topic that you need to know for the final. Tests are extremely difficult. Stay far away!! He is very smart, but does thinks he's the best prof ever. Doesn't understand how many students are really struggling in the class.

He's pretty clear, gives good examples, and his tests aren't bad at all. He can be pretty fast at times, but Math 152 itself is designed to be fast, so if you want to take calculus at a slower but easier pace, take 141/142/143. Otherwise, Maller is the way to go.

Definitely one of the better math teachers. If you pay attention and do the homeworks you will do just fine on his tests. Always starts the class off by asking for questions about the homework and gives thorough explanations when asked.

He is a very nice professor. Goes over homeworks and gives opportunities for students to ask questions. Explains concepts well but 151 itself isn't easy so you do have to study on your own. His tests are easier than the department final.
