I didnt know much about politics and what is happening around the world until I took this course. Boyer is without a doubt the best professor at VT. To get an A you have to put in the work. Its honestly fun work though because you learn about the world and watch movies every week. If you put in the work and time, youll easily get an A.

He is an awesome teacher. If you just listen to his video lectures and take notes you would easily get an A. He gives many opportunities to gain points. Just go for it.

Genuinely my favorite class I've taken at Virginia Tech. Lectures are interesting and I learned a lot about current events and politics that I did not know before. Easy to listen to and get the work done. LOVED this class and Boyer. Take it!!

Loved this class. The way its set up is so unique. There's way more points available than you need to get an A, so you can pick and choose which assignments you'd like more, and just do those. We're only about halfway through the semester, and because of the class set up, I'm almost done with all the points I need to get an A.

People love and hate him at the same time. He is funny and a nice guy, but as a teacher, I would give that a firm negative. As a teacher, he doesn't know how to separate "humor" from education. His quiz is very very tricky and not organized. I personally like teachers who are "here is the work, expectation, and grade" Period.

I took this class online. It kind of sucked but I honestly feel like its as good as it could be for an online class. He seems like a cool dude and I think the class would've been 10000% better if I took the class in person. It was a lot of watching lectures and quizzes but thats to be expected. An easy A, you learn a lot.

This class literally sucked the life out of me, but only because I wasn't interested in it. However, it's an easy A if you do the work. You have to watch a tonnn of videos (try to speed them up on youtube). BUY THE VIRTUAL TEXTBOOK. You can search through it while taking your open-note quizzes. Makes life easier.

Took the online World Regions. it's a super easy A and good GPA booster but it is time consuming. hours of lecture watching each week along with international films each week, reading quizzes from the textbook, and possible flash quizzes. I didn't do any of the projects and got an A you basically choose what you want to do to get points for a grade

I took his online world regions class & honestly loved it. Absolutely no tests & no final. You just do assignments worth different amounts of points & work your way up to whatever grade you want. You can tell he loves what he does & his class was honestly very interesting. I am almost done with the course & still have over a month before finals!

It was frustrating to watch his lectures. At first, it's great. But when you're watching it repetitively, it gets challenging to pay attention. His questions are annoying as some of them were reading comprehension (few of which the book doesn't mention at all). 5-7 quizzes a week, and they consume a ton of time. Take the class online. Buy the eBook so you can just command f the questions on the book quizzes so you dont have to read. Watch all the lectures at 1.5 or 2 x speed and watch the movies at 1.25 x speed. If you do that you should finish the class with an A 3-5 weeks early while doing minimal work.

There is a lot of work, but its online so you dont have to go to a classroom. Honestly, he was so interesting that I didnt even mind doing the work and I learned a lot!!!!! You also get points for watching movies and taking a quiz on them and the movies were really good.

Boyer is the most interesting professor I have ever had. I took the live lecture section of World Regions and it was my favorite class all year. Relatively easy class, as long as you can keep up with the work. He bought the whole class pizza on Halloween and made us think that someone prank ordered $600 worth of pizza in his name. So yeah great guy
