Loved Kurt! Two assignments and a final paper, as well as a final exam (MC, short answer, long answer). His grading criteria was fair and made sense. Super funny and easy to talk to, would reply to emails fairly quick. Gives extensions (except for the final paper). Encouraged group discussions in class, 10% participation grade.

Reviews led me to believe that this professor was going to be amazing. However, on the first essay feedback/comment section, he had assumed that English was not my first language and expressed sympathy. My mentality took a huge blow and soon after I lost the motivation to do well in this class. His lectures were good other than his monotone voice.

Kurt is a real gem. He was always available to help and when I was stuck with writing my essay he helped me find my topic. Lots od readings to do for class , we were graded by 3 papers . Partecipation matters . The final was wasy if you've done the readings. If you can, take him, you won't regret it .

Really nice and knowledgeable guy. I wasn't a big fan of his ideological alignment but it was nice to read (a ton) of readings from a new perspective. 3 papers (the first two were straightforward, the final term paper slightly more tricky) and an easy final. Easy grader. His lectures were sometimes a bit dry as he's a monotone and soft speaker.

Kurt was truly an excellent entry level English prof. Lots of readings to be done before each lecture, but he understands if you miss a reading here and there and doesn't make a huge deal out of it. Lectures were decent and participation in relatively important. We had 3 papers and a final, all of which were straight forward and reasonable.

My personal life was absolutely terrible this semester, and Kurt was so kind, supportive, and understanding. His class was well-structured and you will leave with a deeper understanding of queer theory no matter your level. As someone who is LGBT+, I felt very comfortable in his class and how he presented and discussed material. An absolute gem.

Kurt was the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cared about every single on of us. Taking Queer writing with him, was a wonderful experience. I felt so safe to be open about my experiences in queerness and he encourages the use of individual experiences in your work. Easy marker, better person.

Kurt is a really insightful person. I went to him with questions and he sent me back with much better ideas. Super easy marking criteria; just try a little bit and this course is an easy A-. Do the ALL readings and your papers will be much improved! :) We had two essays in class and an essay, definitions, and reading identification for the final.

He's awesome! He's the TA for the class but he is super helpful! I'd recommend his office hours because he really cares and will make sure you not only get a grasp of the material but understand it in a way that relates to issues in the world. One of the smartest guys I've met.

I actually had him for lit analysis where he was the instructor and film studies where he just marked our responses. Both times he really helped me. He responds to emails right away, has no problems meeting with you to explain things and seemed to be genuinely interested in helping. Definitely worth it. I like him a lot:)

Had for a class though he wasn't the person teaching the class he was the one marking everyone's assignments. While he did make some valid points in his marking most of it was inconsistent. His marking style made it hard to follow and correct mistakes. Needs to be consistent and to clearly clarify things when marking.

"The horror! The horror!" His class is incredible. The material can be intense but it's very rewarding. I felt like he helped me become a critical thinker, and I always left the class feeling more open-minded. As a bonus, he's a young prof and super cute ;). If you have the chance, you should take a class with him! It will change your life!
