He isn't the worst however his class had assignments that were due 3 days a week. So every week Day 1 you posted your discussion day 2 you respond to comments and day 3 is a quiz. Every week its the same so it gets a lot but you get used to it. Doesn't really give feedback and don't have to read the text for discussions or quizzes

Prof Hamann is great. One discussion and one short mult choice quiz based on written lectures every week, midterm and final both mult choice with two short essays. His class is easy if you actually read and try to understand material. Honestly anyone who didn't like him was probably lazy, Phil in general takes some work. He made it interesting.

Only gives weekly quizzes which are decent at best. and discussion boards. - Unfair grader: Quizzes out of 100, weekly discussion out of 10 (If u don't complete everything in each discussion, is an instant 0) - 2 Exams: Multiple choice paraphrased quizzes, 2 essays from books we buy (at least 5 books) - Disrespectful in emails

Most of his lectures are either at or longer than regular class time. But luckily he just post the lectures for us to listen at our own time. He gives us quizzes the next day which are decent depending on what quiz. He gives weekly discussion questions. He's a very tough grader. If you don't complete the task based on the Syllabus, here comes an F.

discussion posts and quizzes weekly. even if you have the lecture right in front of you, you might not get a perfect score on the quiz. i think he think we are all philosophy students, which we def are not. doesnt condense any of the info, so reading the lecture is like reading the test all over again.

every week there is a reading with a discussion post. You have to comment on 2-3 students' posts and respond to at least one person that commented on your post. there is a quiz every week the day after he posts his lecture for the topic. ZERO extra credit. if you miss a quiz or assignment he will NOT let you make it up. u can find readings online

he is so boring. tries to be nice but comes off as condescending. exams are the hardest things ever. only gives one day to complete a final worth 25% of grade. feedback is not that helpful and just is overall not the best.

His lectures were long and boring, and he talked all nonsense. Every week there was a discussion on Blackboard, and you had to reply two other people's responses. You should read the readings to understand things better, but it was never a hard read. There was only the midterm and final with confusing MC and two short answers based off the reading.

Lectures are engaging and have me intrigued in material. Easy weekly discussion posts. Reading Plato can be dense but he goes throughs and clarifies. His tests are fair as he prepares class with a review. Tests have multiple choice and two short essays. Encourages questions and he thoroughly answers. Pay attention and you should be fine.

His lectures are EXTREMELY BORING. I can barely stay awake during them. There are 2 tests (midterm and final), 11 discussion assignments and attendance that each count as 25% of your final grade. He made us get 5 books for the discussion assignments and I just looked up summaries and only read a few pages at most. Discussions are either 100% or 0%.

This professor will NOT elaborate when it comes to the essay exams. He will give you credit for completing each discussion post and will never give a comment but when it comes to the essay exams he will DRAG YOUR WORK. DO NOT TAKE HIM. Unless you plan to pass/fail save yourself the waste of time (you won't learn) and energy!!!

This professor makes the course unnecessarily difficult. if you read the books you can pass, but he makes the class so you can't get an A. He told us. Lectures are long and boring. He almost gives too much information, to the point where you don't know what's on tests or not. Study guides are extremely long and not straight forward.

Hamann was a great professor for philosophy. He is INCREDIBLY lecture heavy but if you pay attention you will learn a lot and find the course rather interesting. He is a very nice man who runs a very straight forward corse. Just make sure to show evidence for your essays. If you take awesome notes, they will suffice for essays. I miss him!

Literally a waste of time, online class is easy but when he actually grades something its more of criticism than anything else. Super pretentious and kind of a snore, someone obviously didn't get that book deal.

I just really didn't like his class. He lectures for the majority of the class and if you don't stop and interrupt him you won't get your participation. He grades childishly too. Copied down notes verbatim and he was the only core class I ever took and didn't get an A in. Just avoid him trust me.
