His class was a game changer. 30 years later and I remember it like it was yesterday. The content was challenging, the tests near impossible (for a freshman) and the lectures ranged from uproarious to mind numbing. But I've never learned material any more relevant nor meaningful. Dr. Ackerman delivered the essentials of the human condition.

I found this man extremely amusing. He always looks like he's up to no good. His lectures usually made me really think which made the class interesting for me. Took him during winter, twice a week 4 hours. He usually kept my attention for the majority of class. Take notes on everything he says, read the books and you'll do fine and he curves too

I was very confused and did not do well on the first two tests, but once you get the big picture of the concepts of the course, it's a little easier to understand. Class is all lecture, and can be confusing

This class is really painful. I wouldn't reccommend this class to any of my friends. He rambles and it's impossible to take notes. I stopped going.

dropped the class after the first test. very hard to take notes because he goes back and forth between subjects and lectures the whole time without visuals. If you are looking for an easy A this isnt the class for you.

I loved this class! The readings were interesting and the exams were difficult, but very do-able and curved generously.

Ackerman is a funny guy, but he rambles a lot and doesn't give many notes. You have to do a lot of reading and pay attention if you want to do well. The tests are difficult, but he curves them. As long as you put in some effort, you should get a B, but the class is very frustrating at times. He's a smart guy but doesn't always make a lot of sense!

He definitely is a VERY interesting man. He's entertaining and pretty out there when it comes to a lot of things. His lectures are a bit unorganized but if you truely want to learn something about yourself or want to learn how to think in a completely different way TAKE HIM! He reminds me of an old punk rocker against all ways of society.

Easily the worst professor I've had here at Delaware. this man is unorganized and has some completely ridiculous notions. He rambles constantly and very rarely actually teaches the subject. Usually for the first half of class he'll talk about whatever he wants (american indians, food pyramids, you name it) and teach the second half. DO NOT TAKE HIM

A tough, thought-provoking class. However, the guy is hilarious. He's my friend's advisor; while waiting for her first appointment, he came by and said "Waiting for Ackerman? He's a jerk. I might as well help you instead." She fell for it for like 10 minutes! Anyway, take the course if you like to think. Memorize definitions! And good luck.

So the class was hard. But how many 200 level classes are for sleeping? It is an interesting class, very thought provoking. If you go to class and listen you will at least be entertained. I mean, the dude eats chalk!

I've taken two classes with him and I absolutely love him. They're not necessarily easy, but theyre so thought provoking and he's incredibly smart without being pretentious, and he's ****ing funny. Human Nature was a class I think about all the time, the content was excellent, but I wouldnt recommend it unless youre interested in Anthropology.

This class is difficult! Very unstructured lecture and the tests are difficult! Go to the study sessions and memorize basic terms because they are word for word on the fill in the blank portion of the tests!

If you are thinking about taking this class for a group A, think again. The professor is OLD, unorganized, arrogant, unclear, repeats himself time and time again, and just likes to hear himself ramble. Exams are confusing and difficult. There has to be a group A that's less painful than this class, and I suggest you find it.

he just rambles for the entire period. not structured at all. the information is interesting if you want it to be, but he is just all over the place and repeats himself. he wants word for word replication on tests, which are impossible. take him if you have to otherwise id suggest skipp weekly hell.
