Quite possibly the worst class I have ever taken in college. She grades on 4 seperate things throughout the whole year. No chance to get your grade up besides essays in which she critiques everything humanly possible.

Refused to round my grade up from a 69 to a 70 so I failed the class. The worst kind of professor.

Professor Bowler is nice, but her class is very boring. 3 group essays that combine for 10% of your grade and gives you about a week to write them. Remaining 90% is 3 in-class essay tests (30% each). She is a tough grader in general, but gives you 6 essay questions in advance and then three out of those six on the test. You pick one of the three.

Impossible grader. Only grades on tests which are essays. No other opportunity to improve your grade besides essays. Don't take her.

She is such a great professor honestly, just a hard grader. The material can be tricky, but she tries to make it as simple as possible and is always willing to answer questions and help! she is a hard grader so make sure you have time to study for exams. She also gives 3 extra credit papers and if you do 2 she gives u half a letter grade (B- to B+)

Dr. Bowler definitely takes her teaching seriously. She is very nice and makes lectures interesting, but the amount of papers she assigns is absurd. She is also an extremely hard and meticulous grader. Make sure you go to office hours she likes to see you taking an initiative. Overall I did learn a lot from her.

lectures are boring but all exam questions are on lecture. don't need textbook but good compliment to lecture matieral. 4 exams. gives possible essay questions before and then you pick one, 4 extra credit opportunities (choose 2 and get half a letter grade increase) hard grader but lets you bring practice essays to office hours, talks FAST

I don't understand why everyone finds this class difficult. She says everything you need to know in class (go to class) and you don't need the textbook what so ever. She gives you the test questions before hand and you can pretty much guess which will be on it. She also offers easy and fun extra credit where you just write about life experiences.

Fascinating personality & extremely articulate. Presents material in an organized, thorough manner. Witty sense of humor. Caveat: very tough grader. Even with studying and attending all classes, it's still hard to get a B. Overall, wonderful professor.

Best professor I've ever had. Explains things well, gets to the point, and cares about your understanding of the subject. 4 exams, gives you 6 questions prior to exam and 3 to choose from for the exam. Not an easy A but you'd have to be really lazy to fail. Go to class and you won't need to read the book

Great prof, HARD grader. take good notes and go to every class and OFFICE HOURS. people do get d's and f's but those are the people who do not go to office hours. she expects a lot but is v. clear. memorize your essay questions verbatim. didn't read book at all, it's all in the notes. i learned a lot in this class but worked hard!

Class is 4 essay exams but she gives you 6 study questions ahead of time, puts 3 of those on the test and you pick one to write about. If you take GOOD notes and make a study guide, you'll be fine, but you do HAVE TO memorize almost everything verbatim. Not an easy A, but if you work at it its possible. There's also extra credit.

Shes a great professor and teaches very clearly. My only complaint is that she talks way too fast but expects you to include every detail on the exams. Grades extremely tough. If you have a great memory, you'll do well in 312
