Professor reserves A's for only a select few, meaning like 1 student per class, and has her TA grade papers. I worked for hours on the Response Papers and still only received a 5/10 score. Hardest Grading and Tests are unbelievably hard as well. Avoid this professor if you can.

Professor Elliot is a nice person but outright says it's hard to get an A. Papers are graded so hard; it is impossible to get an A on them and there is an insane amount of reading. She usually gives extra credit (and encourages it to get an A) for attending events, but gave no alternative option when campus closed. Class is harder than it should be

She gives her lectures like if you already know what she's talking about and when you ask for help she just refers you to the book even though you already read it for clarification. I advice you to pick a different professor to be honest. It's not an easy class

Elliot is really nice, but does not want you to get an A. She straight up says that she's a hard grader and that you probably won't get an A on the response papers which makes it feel like she is setting you up for failure. She is a hard grader and she is happy when the class average is around 75% and does not expect people to get A's

She definitely makes you work. You have to go to lectures outside class to earn participation points or write article summaries. It is quite a lot of work and can seem vigorous if you have other hard classes.

Professor Eliott is okay, her class was very challenging and you definitely need to put a lot of work in it. You have to read every chapter, articles and view the videos she assigns because they show up on the exams! DO ALL THE PARTICIPATION POINTS! They really help because she uses the extra points as extra credit which helps out a lot!!!

Dont take this class. I thought it would be an easy A since its an online LGBT class, but nope. 21 pages of intensive reading per week plus videos, and the exams are extremely specific on the readings you have to do. She isnt clear on what she wants for the essays, and grades them ridiculously. Save yourself a headache and take a different class

She grades hard, doesn't teach the way she grades, don't take the class if you have options.

If you aren't prepared to be an independent learner, don't take this class. ESPECIALLY online. There were 3 exams and 4 papers which relied heavily on the content she provides for the class, so read everything and watch everything. I took this class with the assumption that because I'm LGBT it would be easy. WRONG! Gotta work for that grade!

Elliot's hybrid class was a really good class to take. You probably don't have to go to every single lecture but you have to get 60 participation points so try to utilize all of the opportunities you can. Also, ACTUALLY read the textbook and all of the articles and videos she posts. You'll do a lot better on the tests!!

Dae is clearly very passionate about this subject, which makes lectures engaging, although she often goes off on tangents. Tests were hard - multiple choice, all/none of the above options often, but if you read the book you should be able to figure it out. Definitely reading the book is necessary. Lots of extra credit offered to buffer test grades!

To be honest, you probably do not need to attend any of her lectures if you just read and do all the assignments, but they are kinda informative about outside ongoing issues. If you really want to pass with an A, really engage in the assignments and relate it to yourself and also READ the textbook. It helps so much. Good luck.

DO NOT TAKE HER! The hardest sociology class ever, it shouldn't be this hard. I took the hybrid version (half in class half online) and the test are based on not only the textbook but the 15 articles and 20 videos that go along with each chapter, not to mention each video is at least an hour long. There is way too much information.

I took the online class and it was pretty easy. She makes it clear how grading works and the class was really organized and structured. 20% mindtap, 20% participation, and each of the 3 tests was 20%. Just be sure to watch the videos and read the articles she has or at least know the general information about them because they show up on the test.

Super easy online. Only take this online. Go to the extra credits she offers because they boost your grade and they are very simple. You can pretty much find every test question on quizlet so def an easy A.

Cool lady but talks in circles and goes off on tangents. VERY lecture heavy (ppt format). Graded on 4 exams only BUT generous extra credit offered (DO IT!). Her exams are WAY too hard considering class is an elective. Loves her "all/none of the above" MC Qs. Nonetheless very informative class, learned tons. READ the book!

Honestly, this class was a breeze. I only went to class a handful of times throughout the semester. Even though your grade is heavily based on exams, you will be fine because there is a lot of extra credit. For exams, go over the course documents and read the textbook chapters. Her lectures are repetitive and long, but it is an easy A.

Overall very easy class, going into it I saw a lot of "Skip Class Won't Pass" on here, however I never went to class and still found the tests easy. I advise you do the big extra credit assignment if she assigns one because it's worth a 6-7% grade boost.

Dae is a cool woman but lectures are pretty generic and if you do the weekly online homework and brief reading, you can definitely skip the class and still do well. The tests are name and definition specific with some questions using applied knowledge. Not a terribly hard class, pretty easy A if you can apply the knowledge well and memorize terms.

Paper every week that are worth 5 points each. Can get up to 40 points in that category, so if you can ace 8 of them your solid. Never got solid 5 points for any paper, only thing that brought my grade down. Lots of extra credit, if I just went to a gay pride parade, wouldn't have to do the papers. Word of advice, take any extra credit.
