Comment:
Very difficult class. Never skip, & take good notes. Exams are very hard but he has huge curves. The material is very challenging, & he tries to teach it as clearly as possible. However, he is extremely intelligent so sometimes it would go over my head. Very kind, soft-spoken man that wants his students to do well, but also wants to challenge them.

stockman is the worst professor in the entire universe. his class is impossible. i am a senior and he failed me. i hate him with a passion. avoid him at all costs. no one has any idea what he is ever talking about. exams are IMPOSSIBLE. problem sets take hours and he only gives crappy grades back.

He's a very smart guy who flaunts his quick wit in class. Usually teaches either upper level macro or grad level courses, which makes it painful for him to try to explain more basic concepts to sophomores and juniors with less math background than he'd like. Seriously avoid him for 303, but I think he'd be fun to take for upper level econ.

Avoid at all costs. The class material is extremely hard to begin with, but he does not make it a single bit easier. His lectures are spent scrambling to write everything down while not understanding any of it. Gives problem sets that take 5 hours. Just not a likable guy. Test averages are in the 30s and get curved up into the 70s

Where do I begin, please for your own good don't take unless you absolutely have to. I had no idea what he was talking about half the time. Too fast. Don't go to office hours except you know precisely what you want to ask because he WILL make you look/feel stupid. Exams are hard. Problem sets = headaches. BIG MESS.

if you don't go to class you're going to get ruled. the tests are going to rule you no matter what, but he gives pretty gnarly curves. you just have to outperform the clowns around you. if you have a solid math background you'll do alright. problem sets took forever. he'll give you take-home exams if you all ask him. doesn't fail anyone.

The word is HARD. However, he gives nice curves, which can easily bring your grade to B, or even A, unless you don't take notes at all and don't study at all. Getting a B is not hard, from my experience.

Comment:
The course is dry. The professor tries to help but he is not that engaging or caring. Explanations are precise but confusing. You need a *strong* foundation in calculus (at least a recent A in MATH 221 or 241). The grades are curved and quite decent (30% curved). Afterwards, the overall experience is not that bad.

Hard class!! Unless you have the proper math background, stay away! Also, he certainly doesnt try to make it easy! Dont take this unless, it is a requirement for graduation.

Stockman's classes are difficult b/c he expects his students to have a strong mathematical background, as they should. Unfortunately, most UD students lack the necessary mathematical background perform well. Maybe he should lower his standards, considering the institution he serves, but I think that would be a suboptimal allocation of his resources

Comment:
This class was terrible. Stockman knows his stuff, unfortunately he can't convey it to others properly. If you have to curve your exams by 30% you're doing something wrong and that's what happens in his class. I love economics and have A's in all of my other classes but struggled to pass his class. Stockman is a nice person but a terrible teacher.

Professor Stockman is passionate about economics but can go to quickly or expects a lot from students. In lecture you are taught something then he goes over it as a problem once and then moves on. The exams had roughly a 30% curve. Also the Problem Sets do take quite some time. I would take someone else for 303.

Lots of students droped the class during the semester. Hard & not always clear even if very passionate about maths. Depending on his moods, may be hyperactive & go way too fast over some concepts or just be plain mean. do not always answer your questions during office hours. I was lucky as Stockman liked me but if he doesn't, u'll get a bad grade.

Almost made me change my major until I found out others were having a more difficult. I dont think he should teach at undergrad level. he's too passionate for undergrad appreciation. It's amusing when he gets carried away and doesn't stop his lecture 15 minutes after class is over and students in the next class have started to enter the classroom.

Stockman is a great guy, very funny and extremely intelligent. This class can be very difficult, probably the hardest in my whole college career. Same as ECON810. If you want to do well take Calc III, Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, and Proof before taking this class!! the Calc II pre-req is a joke!
