I don't think I would have stayed in this course if it wasn't for this guy. Even though it was by far my most work heavy course and pulled my GPA down quite a bit, I wouldn't think twice before taking his class again. Very funny, engaging, and he has a way of making complicated ideas sound simple.

He is an okay prof. One thing that pissed me off was his lack of judgment on exams. He literally had the audacity to stand in front of the class after a 41 average on the 2nd midterm and call it easy. Even other profs told him it was too hard. He is fine and makes the material easier to understand, but has no judgement for exams.

Professor Gannon is an amazing prof. He is absolutely hilarious and his class is really engaging. I would totally recommend taking a class with him. However, MATH117 is an insanely difficult class and I would not recommend taking it. I withdrew from the class, but regardless, I still really respect Gannon as a professor.

Never met a professor funnier/entertaining than Gannon. Initially I had a hard time in his teaching method but after having Kuttler for substitute made me realize Gannon really made hard stuff seem simple. Gannon is honest and doesn't go like "practise makes perfection", it's either you get it or don't and explicitly tells 117 isn't for everyone.

Ok let's begin, 1 The most hilarious, inspirational among mortals. Women want him, men aspire to be him 2 It is challenging and high school calculus, especially AP calculus, is no benefit in this class. You will start at the beginning, i.e. 1+1S(1) 3 Know how proofs work and the various ways of proof 4 This class will test limits of your patience

He is really laid back, has an awesome personality, and his classes are a great change of pace! The class itself (Honours Calculus I) was really hard but he did a fair job at helping most students understand it. The ideas presented in class were a little too abstract for me, though and the homework seemed unrelated to class.

Best professor I have had so far (I'm a third year student). He is very interactive and dumbs things down like crazy, making them super simple and easy to understand. Barely any memorization required, and the math is basic jr high level. Practice often and you'll be good.

He's the best prof I've had so far. He's funny, engaging, and does many examples. The best thing though was the homework and exam review. The homework was excellent practice, and before the midterm and final he gave us a sheet of every concept that we might need to know and that was a wonderful help when studying.

Gannon is an amazing Proff. Honors Algebra isn't easy and neither were his assignments or tests but they were fair and he curved us all up. He was always willing to help if you asked and his lecture was very entertaining and informative. Very much hoping to have more classes with him as my academic career continues.

Enthusiastic about his subject, but very unclear notations and explanations. You will wind up learning everything on your own and the notes and assignments are confusing. Not a lot of feedback.

This man is hilarious. One of the most ridiculous people you will ever meet. His writing was very messy and he sometimes made no sense, but still a solid teacher. His odd quirkiness made this class awesome

I've heard horror stories about linear algebra, but Terry made this course very easy. He's very clear, gives lots of examples, and he's also a funny, laidback guy. The offline assignments are very important to understand in order to do well on the midterm and final. Don't send him emails, visit him in person or go to Decima Robertson for help.

Comment:
Terry often used interesting analogies to describe the concepts of linear algebra, space, dimensions, vectors etc. which was quite amusing. His midterm was more difficult than the final, but the average on both exams was in the high 60s, typical for a 1st year math course. The offline assignments are very much indicative of the exams.

Absolutely atrocious instructor! He likes to inform his class that teaching distracts him from his research and paid vacations. Could not be bothered to assist students outside of class so you are on your own. Textbook was also pretty useless. Questions from assignments and the final exam were hardly covered in class. Avoid this guy at all costs!

Was disappointing at the end. I felt like he was good just to get positive reviews but then things fell apart. Has no conscious for being a teacher else he would have given us office hours and prepared us for the final. What the heck was with all the proofs? We did almost none in class. Very disappointing.

I was beyond disappointed. While Dr.Gannon is a good teacher, he gave limited time to get help and was standoffish. The midterm was easy, but the final was awful. A lot of proofs and nothing like what we did in class, since no one finished he even extended the final by 30 min. He gave us no final exam office hours & had a sub for the last day.
