Comment:
You need to read the text and be engaged in your class. He goes through steps in how to answer questions and most exam questions are from his lectures. Pay attention and actively listen. He's very monotone but the material is very boring. Does lots of examples and is sometimes too fast. Again, read the text.

Comment:
Speaks in a very quite voce which makes it hard to hear him. Notes are horrific. They state what the chapter is about and then provides useless data in which he rambles on about for the rest of the class. The my stat lab where you do your assignments has nothing to do with the tests he gives but you have to do them for grades.

Awful. He can't teach. He is so excited by his own data that he does not cover the material that you actually need to do the assignments. I had to teach myself online. The midterms are 15 questions long and about the same stuff that he does in class. So if you can follow his incoherency, then you're good. Otherwise, you're doomed.

The class itself is boring. You can't help but feel sorry for him, because you want to like him (he's nice) but the material is just too damn boring. His notes don't teach you much, so do the online homework and learn from there.

I feel like a lot of these comments are unfair. The course material is extremely dry and boring, and I feel like he tries to liven it up by adding his own funny stories and getting the class involved in examples; he is enthusiastic about the material. Very approachable and is willing to help if you make the effort to help yourself.

Bad Teacher. Useless notes. I wish I had just used the textbook all year. Boring too. If you can learn on your own take this class because he is so bad that if you are on the curve it will actually help you that the people in class are screwed. Easy enough course to still do well in

A really nice man and it's not his teaching but the course material that's really boring. He makes sense if you actually listen to him. Helpful through email (responds quickly). Textbook is really useful. Test are fair if you practise the textbook and math xl questions. Laughs at his own jokes which is kinda cute :)

Its not him thats boring at all, its the course. I cant see how this course can be made interesting by any1. He actually tries to make it funny. the midterms are pretty easy if you do the textbook questions and do the practise stuff on MATHXL. the questions on the midterm are no different than the ones he shows in class.

Comment:
The lectures were reeeaaallly boring. It was extremely hard to concentrate because Hooper speaks in a quiet almost monotone voice. I kind of felt bad for him because he was actually trying, but people would leave maybe 15 minutes into the lecture. The textbook was my savior. If you're not the best at math (like me) don't take it with Hooper.

Aww, but he's so nice. Maybe not the best prof, but you've got to love how cute he is. And he tries hard, he just gets lost in his world of statistics.

horrible teacher! spent numerous classes explaining how do use a program on macbook and one class made us listen to bird calls. The biggest challenge to this class is trying to stay awake with his monotonous voice and the boring subject matter. wouldn't recommend taking his class

By far the most boring and useless class ever. He mumbles and avoids questions by saying "We'll address that later.." He is awkward but probably the cutest little man in the whole world.

The things people really want to know, First mid term really easy,Gr. 7-12 material, second mid term a lot harder because the first stuff was easy and theres a lot of new material. Final was ok because you pull up your pants a little. As a teacher, he is more boring then a rock and studders so hard you want to hit him.The text book saved me.*Avoid*

by far the worst prof ever! i had him for stat 368, which requires 7 prerequsites for it. so obviously the people who got to that class have a basic understanding of what they are doing? right? wrong. 19 people in the class, and he failed 7. class average at the end was a c minus! horrible hhorrible, class average on the midterm was 32%
