Probably the worst teacher one could have. Has no teaching skills whatsoever..is extremely confusing..very bad at communicating..no apparent knowledge of video or technology....yeahhh..not really sure how he has a job here..he would flunk a video class at another school..he's the example of what not to be...a complete and utter disgrace to Clark!

Comment:
He is really an awful teacher. I am a screen studies major and could honestly teach the class better than he. I wish that Clark would hire a new or at least an alternative to Simon in the video production area.

Completely incompetent. He barely knows anything about modern video editing; half of the things he says you can't do are completely possible. He's really creepy too, like everything he does. Also looks like the bad guy in planet of the apes.

Comment:
Terrible professor. Difficult to communicate with, and communication through email is NOT excepted. He often defers responsibility to the TA. He didn't follow the syllabus at all, making planning difficult. He also missed 2 classes and never notified us that he wasn't coming to class. What a waste.

Comment:
Although he claims to be well-versed in documentary, his knowledge of technology (i.e. Final Cut) leaves something to be desired. He's a nice guy, but somewhat difficult to converse with. Only take this class if you have lots of patience and at least a little bit of prior knowledge about production.

Comment:
The guy is hilarious when he tries to use the computer. He insists on using Mac OS 9 for no particularly good reason, and is not provided the resources. For instance, he needs to have Final Cut Pro 4 on every computer so that the kids can click along.

Apparently very accomplished, and he knows the film industry well. He is often confused by the computers and other equipment. If you are not a complete beginner to Vid Prod don't expect to learn anything in this class.

Comment:
Frequently underrated professor has hearing and speech difficulties making communication difficult. However, via email he is quite helpful and clear on his expectations which are seldom unrealistic. Don't blame equipment issues on him, blame V&PA.
