The best. He has deep knowledge of data structures, and is one of the inventors of the Tango Tree. Not recommended for beginners or slackers. Unfortunately he isn't teaching undergraduates this year. When I took this course in Fall 2016, everyone in the class had taken AP Java. The students in Spring 2017 had not, and grades suffered dramatically.

Good professor and teach a lot in class. The lectures are worth to attend. Labs are hard but if you finish them, you will receive a sense of fulfilling. The homework is heavy but helps you get familiar with the knowledge if you could finish them.

Personally I did very bad in his class, but you get a sense that he really knows what he is teaching. The tests and homeworks are always very hard. Also, he seems to have built a very strong relationship with his former students. His TAs are all those who took his class before and are generally nicer and more competent than the other TAs of Tandon.

If you've already learned a lot about CS, Professor Iacono will be a solid choice. Otherwise, it may be a little bit difficult. To be honest, sometimes he assumes that you already know something or you can understand it easily cuz he's smart. This could be a problem sometimes.

Tough professor, but definitely knows his stuff and worth taking. The content can be difficult, but he's great at teaching, so you'll be fine as long as you do the work. Only thing I would say is that he can be a bit vague in his expectations for homework, so you'll have to read the textbook and prepare yourself.

Iacono is honestly the best teacher at Poly. His tests and homework prepare you really well for real-world CS interview problems. Along with that, he keeps his lectures interesting. Be prepared to work for your grade, but know that it is the most rewarding work you can do.

Taking Prof. Iacono's class means work - a lot of work - but you would come out a different programmer. He knows his materials really well, and he only cares if his students understand the fundamental ideas of each lesson. He gives you a lot of space for creativity and welcome questions and even challenges from students. Definitely take this guy!

Amazing professor. Lectures are interesting and he goes very in-depth. Poly needs more professors like him. His homeworks take some time to do, but they let you learn a lot.

Discrete Mathematics. Professor Iacono is a joy to have as a teacher. He's funny, to the point, and energetic. Discrete is really difficult though! Honestly, he teaches it well, but you need to practice it to get a good grade! GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, he will do each problem with you, step by step! He was a really great professor!

The teacher is very nice and willing to help you anytime, but the test are difficult and requires studying outside of class and he teaches pretty quick.

The subject material is NOT hard, but keep in mind that Professor Iacono goes somewhat quickly and does not stop for breaks or questions. He's a brilliant man and he forgets that his students aren't always following, but do the homeworks and good exam grades will follow.

Discrete I. This class is extremely fast paced and makes you think all the time. I definitely recommend going to all the classes, taking excellent notes and actually trying on the homework. Class is really difficult and purely based on the six exams plus the final. He is helpful if you go in for extra help though.

He became a much better professor this past semester. Goes slower and takes care to point out most things unlike in previous semesters. Took his class twice, failed first time. Hard exams but at least he now gives significant prep. Helpful in class and outside. Love the new system he uses for HW collaboration. Much more worth taking the class now.

don't take this course online. pro-forma lectures he rushes through. If you don't know the material coming in, I don't see how you'll learn it from him. MIT has good lectures recorded though, and they are free. Save $3700.00

His teaching method is disorganized. He makes you read the book and learn the material before he goes over it in class. Gives many tests so there are many chances for you to do better.

Tended to teach by example, so only a few select cases were learned; there was little to know actual understanding unless you had a VERY strong math background. Even people who did well admitted to having no clue as to how they got certain answers right. This guy needs to make a syllabus and stick to it.

Brilliant. This guy is Einstein reborn as a rocker. He looks like the drummer for a local band, but don't take him lightly. He's a great professor, very clear and organized, and he makes you THINK. I had smoke pouring out of my ears when this class was done. Definitely a good experience but you gotta go balls to the wall here.
