Had prof Halliburton for anth101 in fall 2019 There are a lot of readings & he goes over them in class. His lectures can seem dull at times but he does try to engage class in discussion. We had a class w over 200 students & when students said it was hard to hear him at times he got a mic so it was easier for students to hear him. Overall a nice guy

3 tests, 2 short papers (one required us to go to a film festival in Manhattan). requires a lot of reading, about a chapter and an article a week. Gives an overall understanding of Cultural Anthropology and it's history. Need to take notes, there are no power points, just lecture. Wants participation and he curved all the tests.

At first, I didn't enjoy this class and thought at one point that I would fail, but after receiving my first exam back, I realized it was common sense. LISTEN DURING LEC!!! His exams (3 including final) are vocab terms that he writes down and the main idea of the readings that we have. No need to read tbh because he explains it in the next class.

This professor is very knowledgeable in his field. This is an easy class as long as you read the textbook and the articles. That said, there are a LOT of readings. He urges students to participate but very few do. It is easy to fall asleep in his class as his voice is monotone. There are no exam reviews but read the material and you will pass.

ok don't get me wrong he is a really nice guy and is available outside of his lecture, but do yourself a favor and do not take this class!! the lecture is so so boring, and the tests are honestly tricky. he doesn't try to trick you on the test but it was always down to two answers that both seemed correct. overall don't take it, he is very nice tho

If you have insomnia, this is the class for you. Professor H will not fail to put you to sleep. I could have taught this class myself and made it more interesting if given the resources and the time to prepare. I would rather have someone who knows less but can teach better. His Jesus looking assistant on the other hand, is way more interesting.

Professor Halliburton is a pretty chill guy. His lectures are boring and just talks about the topics/readings that you are suppose to have knowledge about. Just have the required book and teach yourself the material to pass the exams, you'll survive.

He is the most boring professor do not take his class. He doesnt give any notes during lecture so you have nothing to study for the tests. he talks in a low monotone voice. His readings are Phd Level and impossible to understand. assignments are easy. tests super hard multiple choice & no review so u go in blind and fail

This proffers class is excruciatingly boring. It is painful to sit through the whole class. On top of that he goes off topic a lot and starts talking about irrelevant things, I still dont know what were learning about. He doesnt review either which is actually the worst part of all. He doesnt have any review sessions for the exam. I hate it.

He is literally one of the worst professors I have ever taken, reads everything directly off a textbook and spends an whole hour talking to himself. He has close to no interaction with the students, and speaks in such a monotone voice putting everyone to sleep. Definitely suggest to not take him under any circumstances.

Honestly despite how many pages you'll end up printing out for this class, it really wasn't a hard class. You just really have to be on top of your notes. Take good notes and just review over your notes for the midterm and the final; you'll pass.
