I genuinely wish I had never taken her class and I can't say that about many professors. I doubt she reads essays past the first paragraph when they're worth 30% of your grade (she will write comments about missing things that can be found later in the essay). She will give you a low grade with no helpful critiques beyond "read the rubric".

I wouldn't recommend this class to my worst enemy. If I could give a 0 I would, she is the toughest grader, if you get higher than a C on the essays its a miracle. If you have a different opinion than her on discussion posts its an automatic D. Don't even bother emailing her, she hardly answers and if she does its rude and condescending.

The class has discussion posts every week, which is nice. 2 papers and a term paper that is worth 40% of the grade!! Doctor Horton is great, she gives good reviews and feedback however is a tough grader. If you are not good at writing do not take her but if you are, youll succeed. Also there is a lot of reading to do so be prepared.

This class was pretty straightforward, with a quiz and discussion post in which you have to respond to two classmates weakly. Don't forget to respond-she will not give you points back. Also a final research paper which is the same weight as the semester exam, so take your time. I rated this class a 3 because while it's not hard, philosophy hurts me

This woman is a nightmare. -Low scores on nearly every assignment where I disagreed with her views and never explained why. - Gave me a zero and marked late an assignment that was turned in on time bc she said I copied the notes verbatim. Plagiarism checker said it was 2%. -Low score bc I quoted the PHILOSOPHER and not HER OWN WORDS

Most confusing class I've ever taken. She stopped communicating with us midway, discussion posts were graded only based on deadlines and word count,3 essays were worth literally 75% of the grade, and were graded based on the thesis. She mentioned that we had a final 5 days prior, usually I'm always on the professors' side, but she was just lazy.

Basically she phoned it in. No communication, just "here's all the work and here's when it's due, good luck". REALLY tough grader with no meaningful feedback - there were 3 essays that made up almost all the grade and she seemed to grade on structure rather than content, which makes no sense at all. ZERO help with final exam preparation. BAD.

Absolutely horrible experience. Im convinced she doesnt even read discussions, essays or term papers before she gives the grades out. Its impossible to get a good grade on anything in this class, and she doesnt help or give good feedback at all. I was very excited for this class then I realized how rude she was. Wouldnt recommend.

STAY AWAY. If you have any other alternative and don't have to take this class, take something else! The subject is really interesting, but the way she grades the papers makes it impossible to get an A. I took this as an elective because I thought it would be fun and now I'm kicking myself. GPA killer!

First let me say I am an A student. My GPA before this class was 3.87 because I got a B in one class. This horrible woman graded me Cs on all 3 essay papers because my opinions dont match hers. The 3 essays are 60% of your grade. I have never, and I mean NEVER received a C on any paper or any class in my college career. DO NOT TAKE HER.

This class was supposed to be my easy class but turned out to be my most stressful one this semester. She grades based on her personal opinion & if you email her asking about a low grade she does not respond. Or at least takes 3+ days to. She is a tough grader, you either pass or fail, & there are a LOT of readings. GPA killer ):< I DO NOT RECOMMEND

I took this class online. Every Sunday there was a discussion post (300-500 words) about different topics you need to read about. Three 3-5 page essays and the final term paper is 8-10 pages. She's a really tough grader on the essays, but her feedback helps a lot. It's not hard to pass the class if you put in the work and take her advice.

Professor Horton's class was the first class I have ever gotten a grade below a B in. I am a straight A student and taking her class was terrible for my GPA. When you get your papers graded, you either pass slightly or fail miserably.

I took Professor Horton because she had good reviews on Rate My Professor, but she was a very tough grader with unrealistic expectations. There were discussions, quizzes, and papers due every few days. Not to mention the fact that there was no clear schedule. If you are in college and want to have any sort of life I would recommend not taking her.

There are weekly posts that are pretty much pass/fail, three essays and a paper. The essays are just making your posts longer. the topics are interesting. I loved the class.

Her class was composed on 3 papers over the span of the semester and a discussion post once a week. As long as you do the discussions and do the papers, there's no reason not to pass. She's a pretty easy grader so as long as you meet the criteria for word count and stuff, you'll most likely get an A on all the assignments and papers.

Took this class online and enjoyed it very much. The topics were interesting and relevant. A lot of reading every week and a discussion/short essay due. She tells you exactly what she is looking for when she grades and as long as you make the adjustments on the next assignment you get a passing grade. I would definitely recommend.

Biomed ethics has been my favorite class I've taken in college. I truly feel like a better person for taking it bc it forces you to learn about controversial topics and hear different points of view. She tells you exactly what she wants to see in the papers so as long as you put in the time you'll get a good grade. Always quick to reply to emails.

Twelve weekly discussion posts of 300-500 words. Easy. Four 3-5 page essays are due and you can email her for advice on how to compose the essay. Think outside the box and put effort into learning valuable and fun material :D Advice: Always find a way to apply ethical theories learned in Module 1. This is an easy way to fill up word count.
