Haynie is an interesting man. His Genetics lab is fairly straight forward if you show up, talk to him, and hand in the assignments (you probably wont get them back) you will get an A. He is a rambler so it can get a little off-topic but he has good intentions, cares about the subject, and wants his students to learn from his class.

Dr. Haynie, while he is disorganized and tends to ramble, is very knowldegable and extremely helpful. If you're on facebook etc. during lecture, you're not going to do well. You need to engage and pay attention, sometimes monotanous. Overall, his tests were fair and if you actually show an interest he is very helpful and kind. DO the HW.

He did not hand back any of our assignments, so no one had any idea how they were doing. The lab manual is wordy and sometimes confusing (which makes sense because he wrote it). Take genetics lab with someone else.

One of the worst professors that I've had. He is all over the place. He rambles on about stuff that isn't going to be covered on the test and rushes through the stuff that is. He slides are repetitive and confusing. He skips through most of them anyways.

He is all over the place. Hardly ever assigns any work or lab reports, but don't take that as a good thing. Asking him for help is virtually useless; all he does is go off on tangents even when you're genuinely interested in the answer to the question you asked.

Do anything you can to avoid taking Genetics with Haynie. Slides are full of random pictures and lectures are pointless to attend. It is impossible to do well, multiple choice questions are ambiguous and horribly written. He also can't answer any of your questions. Do yourself a favor and wait to take it with Militello.

Take it with Militello. Although Haynie is better than Lovett (he has powerpoints which can actually be useful), he still sometimes spends more time talking about the scientists involved and what they were eating for lunch that day instead of the material you will be tested on.

I would have rather spend an entire semester extra at college than take another class with this man. He puts you to sleep in class and I spend more time trying to figure out what the questions on the tests are asking than actually answering them. If you can avoid this man like the plague.

If you can get him for Bio 100 Lab, do so! I don't know what he's like in class or other labs, but for this, if you don't have enough time to do something, he won't make you do it. Easy grades on labs and he's incredibly entertaining.

An extremely lazy professor. He hasn't updated his slides in years, and they still have mistakes on them from when he first made them. He does not prepare for class and arrives literally 10 minutes before it starts. Half the slides he can't even explain because he hasn't looked at them since last semester. His tests are brutal and ambiguous too.

He can't teach to save his life. The only reason I passed this class (even with studying) was because the tests were multiple choice so you could at least narrow down answers. Lovett isn't much better, but take her instead, at least you may get something out the class.
