Extremely enthusiastic professor. Teaches Humn1 in a different way and encourages class participation. Fair grades. He gives you a review sheet for each test which are extremely fair. If you read the assigned reading you will do fine. I am not a particularly great reader or writer and I think his tests and quizzes were only slightly challenging.

Master Hon is a fantastic professor, best ive ever had. Gives out study guides for every test. He is an extremely smart man who is very passionate. He tries really hard to make the class enjoyable and he's really funny. The *only* downside is that he assign good amount of reading, but you dont need to do it to get a good grade. Also gives treats!

Dr. Hon is one of the best Professors I've had thus far at Geneseo. He is funny and makes class interesting, and gives study guides before tests. He assigns a lot of reading and expects participation, but if you do both of those you'll probably do pretty well. Would definitely reccommend.

Dr. Hon is an EASY grader. Easy quizzes, essays, and exams. His lecture style is to talk about the background of books and then to lead a class discussion. If you don't read before class, you will gain less from the class. To pass, or to gain from the class, that's your optional decision.

Hon is a great teacher but a hard grader. His average grade given in my class was a B-. The test is exactly the study guide but for full points you will need to be specific. Get ready to write until your hand cramps up. Overall the subject matter was very interesting though and he was an excellent lecturer.

Honestly, going into this class I didn't know what to expect. However, Professor Hon is one of the best professors I've ever had at Geneseo. He's extremely passionate about what he does and is so helpful and generous. He brought in gourmet chocolate for our class one day and always has office hours available. Definitely take him!

I had to take Hon's class at 8:05am, which i wasn't looking forward too. Hon is such a good professor thought hat within 10 minutes of our 2 hours block (twice a week i might add) i was awake alert and participating. Hes great, his essays are short, and he is really helpful and smart. He is definitely the professor to take for 220!!!

One of the best in the department. He's energetic, he keeps things interesting...he's just an awesome guy in general. He wrote me a fantastic letter of recommendation too, so for those of you planning on continuing your education, keep that in mind. Just watch out for his midterms; they're usually harder than his finals.

This class is interesting. However, he is very hard to understand-he has quite an accent. He is an extremely hard grader!!! I would not recommend this class if you are looking for a good grade (anything above a b/b-)- although it is interesting.

East Asian History with Hon was an amazing class. He truly loves the subject that he is teaching and is excited to be there. His tests are a bit difficult but the class is totally worth it. He is a bit of a tough grader. If you need to take a modern history class, take this one.

Grades WAY TOO HARD for a 100 level class. He is so picky and takes too many points off on tests for simple, little mistakes. I went in to talk to him and he barely cleared anything up about my grade. Honestly, he's kind of a jerk and you can't understand a word he says. I'm a good student with a 3.79 GPA and got an 82 on a test I thought I aced.

Friendly and enthusiastic but can be difficult to understand. Puts too much emphasis on students involvement and not enough on lecturing. Lectures seem repetitive without a whole lot of varied information being spoken about. Readings are not well chosen - instead of choosing clear concise readings, he chooses cryptic, convoluted authors sometimes.

Everyone is saying easy grader and that you don't have to do the reading. I however found his class impossible to understand and by the time the 1st test came I knew nothing. I had to just withdraw. I also think comparing the Japanese Occupation of China to the American Occupation in Iraq is a bit much. Real nice guy though.
