This class was extremely hard not only for me but for my classmates. The tests had all these problems that werent fully explained in class. And you really have to make sure you take really good notes cause theres no PowerPoints. He was accessible out class and was very helpful.

He's a very nice guy but is a very hard grader. Make sure you really read and take good notes in this class cause most of the testing materials are on the upcoming tests you take.

Great guy, hardest class. He cares a lot about his students but its difficult to keep up with the amount of information hes throwing at you. The tests consist of everything hes ever told you, even if you didnt think you should write it down. Good class for a major, but not for someone who isnt interested.

Nice guy but a tough class. Likes to draw pictures on the board that might confuse you. If you do better than the class average you will be fine because the class is scaled. Takes off multiple choice questions that 50% of the class gets wrong. Use your textbook!

I hated his class and many of my classmates hated his class too. Explains nothing in class, just draws pictures on the board. Not a good guy either.

I only took global studies for a gen ed requirement and I regret it. Literally all we talked about was climate change. Hickey is a good guy but a very tough grader and was never satisfied with my level of work. However, if you go see him in office hours, he will boost your grade. I think that was the only reason why I passed his class.

Global Studies was practically a climate change class. Taken him before and knew that it would be a challenge, however, this was ridiculous. Enough was never enough. Would give wrong information in class, and expect the right info on quizzes; which were impossible. Would not recommend. Stay away.

This guy is a great guy and an even greater professor. However, he grades insanely hard and expects you to put a ton of effort into the class. Do not take any of his classes if you are looking for a gen ed. But if you need to take him, he really is a good guy and can be funny. you learn a lot too.

So many people think that is is the hardest class in the world and it's not. If you TRY, it's easy. Ask questions! Loves people who ask questions, but don't go crazy. AMAZING notes A on the exam, just good notes. Possible scale at end of semester if you show up for classes. If 12 class gets an exam question wrong, it's tossed out. TTH

It is hard to understand the material. He is a fair grader although tests are VERY hard. If 50%+ of the class gets a question wrong he won't count the question against you. The material is often too boring for me to even pay attention. I would not recommend this class but do enjoy the Prof. very nice. If the class avg is below 80 he adds a scale.

106 - US&CA seems to be a unique class for him. No "homework", but only 3 tests all semester. The "book" is a HUGE stack of printouts, which are REQUIRED for success on the tests. If you're organized and can get all of the readings done, and can take good notes, then take him. He's quite funny, and tries hard to make lectures interesting (succeeds)

The exams are ridiculously hard!! You need to attend every class to write down everything he says and puts on the board. Homework is only worth 5% so attendance, exams, and the final are worth the rest. theres only 3 exams & the final, so you better do well on every exam. VERY HARD FOR AN ELECTIVE COURSE. DO NOT TAKE

Professor Hickey is a great teacher! I've taken 3 of his classes. I have never retained so much information as I have in his class. His classes are challenging but not impossible. He expects you to remember a good deal of information but it's information that's easy to remember if you attend class and make sure you really understand it.

Professor Hickey was terrible. I struggled to keep my grade up the entire class. He graded really unfairly and expected to memorize every word he said. I did not get higher than a B the entire course for tests even after I studied for hours.

Prof. Hickey is the one of the smartest and nicest professors here at Assumption. His tests and quizzes are extremely hard, and I took two of his classes my freshman year, but it was worth it, because I learned a ton. He has a grading curve which is very helpful, and don't be afraid to go to his office hours, because he might bump up your grade!

I did not enjoy this class. He is extremely hard, will not let you make up any exams no matter what the conditions. I got a 0 bc I had to go to my sister's wedding. His exams are impossible, filled with graphs, maps, diagrams,etc. No one in our class got above a C. He's way into what he teaches and it makes no sense. Do not take this professor.

He is such a hard professor but interesting and you will learn a lot. This class will teach you a lot but kill your GPA. I think he grades too hard in exams and is sometimes unfair in his tests.
