Good guy and may curve some tests. Lecture heavy and his delivery is hard to follow, and dry. Very knowledgeable and he cares if you reach out to him for help or questions. Read the textbook and apply yourself in the Aplia assignments and youll do fine. Only take Econ if youre interested in the subject.

His lectures are off topic & had nothing to do with the tests. I managed to get an A because this class is pretty easy if you just do the work & study by watching youtube videos, I recommend Jacob Clifford's. Attendance isn't mandatory so there's no point in going other than for tests & maybe review days since he sometimes emphasizes what to study.

Attendance wasn't mandatory when I took him, but he does pick up on whether or not you go to class. Class can get boring, and tests aren't really based off lectures so there's that. Stay off your phone/laptop or he'll get mad, make sure you have your bearings, and make sure to understand the whole 9 yards.

This is one of the sweetest men Ive ever had as a teacher. Extremely kind & accessible outside of class. However, he CANNOT teach well. He is very unclear during lectures and scatterbrained to the point that I stopped attending lectures. I got an A in the class- it is relatively easy if you READ THE BOOK & do the homeworks. Lectures are pointless

This was the worst professor I've had. He doesn't really "teach," he writes things on the board, asks if u have ur bearings, gives no time for questions and just moves on. The textbook and his lectures barely correlate, & the test is nothing like the class reviews. When I reached out and emailed him, he never responded, this happened 2. DONT TAKE!!

This class is self-taught. The only reason I would go to class is to know what chapter we're in or for review days (He usually lets you know what chapters to focus on the most).

Great guy, but not so great teacher. Imagine going into class and listening to a lecture over something that has absolutely nothing to do with anything mentioned and then asked if you had your bearings before the lecturer decides to press on. Bottom line, I would have taken another professor had I known what I was signing up for. Still a great guy.

He curves the tests, he curves the aplia hw's, and I think he even curved everyone's overall grade in the course. His tests aren't bad if you understand the overall concepts he goes over in class. He is a really nice guy that is willing to answer any questions you may have during and after class. Just make sure you don't use your phone/laptop.

Don't bother going to class, it won't help. I pulled all-nighters and read the chapters from the textbook and did fine on his tests. He has a homework due every week which are simple enough, but don't study them for the test, they didn't helped me. They typically took an hour to complete. He, as a professor, is boring and vague.

Imagine walking into class and everything that will be talked about for the next few weeks is already written in chicken scratch on the board. It was like that every class, extremely hard to follow. He goes off topic constantly and is impossible to reach by email. Do yourself a favor and take literally any other professor, or go to Lonestar or HCC.

I would probably say this class is definitely self-taught. His lectures did not coincide with his exams. I read the textbook, went to study groups, and even tried tutoring did not help. I end up dropping the course because I did not want a C...

I stopped showing up to class cause it really doesn't help. You need to rely completely on the textbook cause showing up for the lectures is basically useless. He's a very nice man and is quick to answer emails but oh man. If I could drop it I would have. Find a different professor if you want an A.

The professor himself is so knowledgeable, smart, and has excellent lectures. I recommend you not take it at UH instead go to a community college. Very difficult course only because the lecture and exam do not mirror each other. This is not a straightforward A. Instead it is a class where you teach yourself. Exams are concept/application based.

Lectures are not attendance based so if they help you understand by all means GO but if they don't like they didn't for me then just keep up on your own. I read the chapters, did the aplia assignments, and watched videos on the topics. ACDC Econ and Ageconjon helped me a lot in understanding and application. I think self teaching is key.

You walk into class and he has the notes pre scribbled all over the 3 chalk boards. Good luck reading anything, a kid can write more legibly. Tends to talk about things that are not going to be on the test, but brushes over the stuff that is actually critical to the exam. Dont take him if you want a good grade.

His lectures are straight forward regarding how economics work and he's very active in finding feedback from students to make sure they're all learning. More sources from the textbooks could be implemented into the lecture but overall he's a great professor.

- Takes forever to put in grades (literally the last minute) - The final is 50% of your grade - Lectures aren't that helpful - The Aplia assignments get really hard after awhile (online assignment) - Syllabus is very vague - If you can, take another a professor!!!!
