No final, 4 hourly exams. Takes the three highest grades. Each exam has an easy extra credit portion about the readings. Teaches you all you need to know about Russia and China. Primarily taught by Professor Gregory with another Professor briefly for Chinese portion. Exams are muti-choice and short answered and reflect lecture and reading matieral.

Gregory is an excellent professor who cares for his students. 5 tests, only keeps three, so if you get a good grade on the first three you're done early. It's a very simple class and very interesting. If you show up to each lecture the test should be an easy A. Gives 10pts of extra credit on each test. ECON 3341 is basically the same as well.

Positiveness of this professor: 1) Five exams, drops lowest two, and counts highest three. 2) You can earn 10 extra credit/points on each exam. 3) Moderate effort earns you B or B-, C+ at least. Negativeness of this professor: 1) Too much articles to read. Exams materials is very long. (Unorganized). Recommended? Yes. Peace!

4 exams but he drops lowest one. Optional comprehensive final. Exams consist of MC & short essay answer. You must read all assignments--no exceptions. A lot of the questions come from what he says in lectures--His lecture notes are in Power Point (blackboard) so use them. if you do really well on the 1st 3 exams you are done with the class early.

4 Exams, Optional Finals. Drops the 2 lowest grades. Requires loads of reading. The exams consist of MC & short answer. You must attend class. A lot of the questions come from what he says. If you study, read the articles, attend class, & take good notes you should be fine. If you do really well on the 1st 3 exams you are done with the class early.

No assignments. 3 tests & optional comp final, drop 2, computer based in testing ctr. I literally never once went to class, no idea what the man looks like. Just crammed the reading couple days before, passed the first two tests & never took another one. Should be an A if you go to class. Tests are not easier than should be, just straightforward.

Pretty simple class but loads of reading required. 4 tests and he only counts the 2 highest grades. His testing sucks because you have to go to CASA but other than that pretty straighforward. If you pass his 1st two exams you dont have to show up to class anymore.

Tests were for the most part well diversified but heavily weighted towards the essays. He obviously knows the period of Soviet/Russian transition (the topic of the class) and brings modern events into the class lectures. Not the most exciting class but good information to obtain if you are looking to pursue anything related to Russian Economics.

One of the best teachers I ever had. My final grade was a 110. The class is more like a discussion rather than a lecture. Alot of people fail only because they didn't come to class. So attend every class and it will be easy.

He has three tests and drops the lowest grade. A make up and a final that is not mandatory. I didn't read the WHOLE book just a few chapters and i got a D-. Read the book and maybe you might do well. His test questions are tricky. MC and essay. Points given for the essay were generous. Overall, class is boring and tests arent easy.

Really, just read the book. Buy the book and read it, it's not that complicated. Only 3 chapters per test and it's an easy read. If you're stupid, then ask him for help, he's very understanding. Minimum of B if you're serious. People who do bad don't read the book and stare at the ceiling in class. Lectures can get boring, but hey, it's ECONOMICS!

Interesting material, and good preof. A lot of people fail, or get poor grades because they don't know how to take essay exams. All of his exams are essay based. If you want to do well in this course you better know or learn how to explain economic concepts in plain english. exams are based on lectures and notes.

His lectures aren't very organized, but it's pretty much what he puts on the exams. Reading the book (which he wrote) won't really help you on the exam. Repeats himself enough to where it makes up for the lack of actual teaching ability, so it's not so bad.

Dr. Gregory does not explain the material indepth for his class lectures because he wrote the textbook. Therefore, anything you need to know more of comes from the text. His class is very insightful. He curves really BIG!
