Ms. Willett focuses on adding as much nuance as possible to her lessons. For a STEM major taking my required history class, I really wish we could learn some concrete facts instead. The class does make you think, though! It's important to participate and to communicate with the professor one-on-one in order to succeed.

Professor Willett really is a great teacher. She makes the lectures entertaining and if you go to class, she'll write the important terms on the board for the test questions. The only thing is that you have to read 3 books for those tests. i would be sure to take each assessment seriously because theres only 3 tests and 4 quizzes. take this class!!

I literally love Julie. She is so passionate about what she does so her lectures are almost enjoyable and very interesting. She engages with the class a lot and drops major hints about test questions. Her tests are easy if you take notes and listen, but that's easy to do in her class. Overall, I would take every class she taught!

Every class she writes the terms you need to know on the board and repeats important information. No text book, 3 books that you need to read in depth because the exams have a section devoted to the book and the essay questions tie into the book as well. Overall a really nice person with entertaining lectures, would take a course by her again!

If you miss classes, you won't do well. But honestly, with this professor why would you ever want to miss a class? Easily the most dynamic and engaging professor I've had, the absolute opposite of uptight. Only real homework is reading the assigned books in preparation for the quizzes. Tests are straight from lectures and readings. Overall 11/10

Super funny. Really good/interesting lectures. She is super passionate. Tests are 20 mc questions (40%), 60% essay. Gives prompts ahead of time, and mc questions are straight from the terms she puts on the board every class. Attendance isnt mandatory but going & taking notes helps a TON, so do TA review sessions! No textbook, 3 short books instead!

Dr. Willett is amazing! She is one of my favorite history teachers by far! Her lectures are interesting, and she doesn't use a textbook. Tests are essay based, but her and her TA's aren't tough graders. I would take her again and again!

Lots of essays. Attendance not mandatory but essays on every exam as well as 20 multiple choice questions. Its important that you read the books that are assigned because you are tested on them. She is very good at repeating what she says in lectures so that everyone can hear her well. Personable and shes on top of her stuff. Shes a mom.

Dr. Willett is the BEST! Her lectures are super funny and easy to pay attention to. She writes down the terms you need to know and repeats them so you can write them down. Quizzes and tests are easy as long as you read/learn the terms! Ive struggled with understanding history since middle school and Im right on the border of having an A.

Professor Willett isn't a horrible instructor, but I probably wouldn't take her again. Pros: Appeals to younger generations through humor, super cheery and passionate, tries to keep your attention throughout lecture. Cons: You only get three exams and three book quizzes counted towards your grade, so you really have to do well on them to pass.

Professor Willett's class is so enjoyable. For our class she wrote key terms on the board before the lecture which was not powerpoint. To do well on exams make sure to bold underline and STUDY those words she puts on the board. She tends to say "hm this would be a good exam question" and most of the time she DOES put it on the exam. I recommend her

LOVE !!I took her class on Tuesday & Thursdays. Lectures were long but super informational. Through the whole lecture you're writing/typing notes. Sometimes its complicated to keep up, just pay attention. She does ask you to read three books, they aren't hard at all. The quiz's and exams are super specified and detailed questions.

She is absolutely hilarious and so passionate in her lectures. She doesn't use PPTs for her lectures which I personally enjoyed because she actually spoke free. Her exams are not difficult at all, just as long as you were actually in class and taking notes. The quizzes are also easy A's just as long as you actually read. She is so kind and awesome
