I have never looked forward to going to a writing class until WRT 332 happened. Schwegler is a very nice old man and knows so much in his field. He actually wrote the textbook which is cool. For a 50 min class you'll usually get out 5-15 min early depending on if he thinks "we're done for today". Awesome teacher and knows how to crack jokes.

A great guy. You will have a total of 4 or 5 long papers throughout the semester. He gives great feedback on them and usually gives anyone an A for trying. Does not grade things until last minute. Get on his good side and you're all set! Full of long boring stories every class that have nothing to do with anything. class is not mandatory.

He is so caring and full of random stories. He didn't grade really anything until the very end of the semester, but gives As if you make an effort. Used the textbook for some things, but for the most part you could probably get by without it. Wonderfully pleasant man. Would definitely take another class with him.

He is an older guy who tends to talk off topic quite frequently. It's really easy to zone out during class but be careful cause sometimes he does say something important you don't want to miss. Overall he is a sweet, knowledgable old man who is a very generous grader.

I loved this professor! Yes, his lectures are very long and awfully boring but he is a great guy. He is extremely knowledgeable in many different topics which makes him very interesting. Make sure to utilize his office hours, he provides helpful insight when assigning papers in this 1 on 1 help. I would definitely recommend taking writing with him!

He wrote the textbook and all the assignment are posted online. theres no point in going to class. just do the 4 papers and you'll get an A. he's slow with getting grades back and i don't think he even reads the papers but just slaps a decent grade on them. Its an easy A if you just do the papers

I don't know what the other review is talking about, Schwegler grades pretty generously. He does speak fairly softly, & class can get a little boring, but he finds a way to relate concepts to interesting real life examples. Participate & he'll like you. As long as you put some effort in, it's hard not to get an A.

Comment:
Professor schwegler is the author of the textbook for this specific class. Although the man knows everything about everything he struggles to put it into words and speaks softly. His grading is harsh in comparison to other writing professors. I've heard that it's hard to get below a B in another intro to writing class while I'm struggling with a C+

Can be a little disorganized at times. Really nice guy, class was pretty fun for a writing class. As long as you get your work done it's easy. None of the papers are too long except the final project. He's an easy grader and appreciates good document design.

He is a nice guy but that is about all he has going for his class. extremely unorganized and due dates are very unclear, even though they don't really matter anyways. Easy A, 5 papers and a portfolio of revisions.

Schwegler is really laid back, as long as you complete the work you don't need to complete it on time. If you have questions he is a little slow on getting back to you. overall it's fun class and you get practice with writing

Great guy, has amazing anecdotes and isn't afraid to use them. From how soap is made to the contents of Whitecastle hamburgers, he knows it all. His lectures are often isoteric and have nothing to do with anything class related. He often lies about stories and uses students to do his own work by having them proof-read his stuff. Just take him.

I took this class online. This professor was just too easygoing for me. I just feel like I'm getting away with something that I shouldn't. Assigments were a breeze, and even though I'm sure I was missing some or was extremely late with others, I was not reprimanded at all. By the end of the class, I just gave up trying at all.
