Professor Smith is one of the nicest professors I've had! And her class, despite being a three hour on Wednesday nights, was fine. Granted, she cancelled class a lot and I don't think we had class for the last four weeks of the semester. I didn't really learn much, but Professor Smith is still a great teacher.

I really liked having class with her. She gives you plenty of time outside of class to work on your assignments and lets you group up with the others to discuss your writing. As long as you do your best and complete the work you will be fine. Grad students will be expected to do more than the undergrads.

Easy to pass in her class. She's a great woman who cares about what she teaches. I looked forward to each class because movies are watched and then talked about. Even for a Poli. Sci. student I was able to enjoy her class. Come to class, do the 3 or 4 assignments and you'll pass.

great professor who lets you channel your creative side. offers enough time between assignments to allow for completion and often cancels class to give you time to work on pieces from home. funny, sweet, and is flexible. she will work with you as long as she sees that you are trying.

This class was super easy. Professor Smith is very laid-back and a lot of the time she will cancel class or let you out early. You write two papers, which are easy and spend classes reading others and critiquing them. Take this if you want an A.

She is a very laid back prof. Grading/assignment expectations were clear, the work was more about completion than quality, so an easy A if you do the work. She will give you a ton of feedback if you visit her in office hours, but otherwise it is fairly minimal. I don't think the class made me a better writer, but it was a pleasant class.

Smith is my favorite professor at WCU, and one of the best writing professors the university has t offer. Her grades are fair and her advice is always helpful. I have learned so much from her as a writer. Not to mention the fact that she is the sweetest woman, funny, and interesting. Absolutely do take her classes.

Nicest woman. Interesting lectures about film and the cultural context. There were four papers and they're pretty open to writing about whatever. Easy grader, generally cares about the students. Cancels class a lot. Would definitely recommend for a writing emphasis class.

Nicest and easiest writing professor WCU has to offer. She cancels class all the time and she clearly tells you what she expects. The papers are relatively easy to write and she gives you a chance to revise all of your papers for a higher grade. If you need a 200+ level writing course take Smith for sure.

If you want feedback on your writing DO NOT take luanne. She never returned a single page and didn't say a word about my writing edgewise. For all I know, she never read it. I took the class to develop as a writer, to which she contributed nothing. If you want to show up and coast, she's for you, but if you care to learn... look elsewhere.

Nice and straightforward. Has interesting writing prompts, but pretty much let's you write about whatever. She gives good feedback and classes are laid back (unless your story is up for critique).

well, we only had 4 classes the whole entire semester because she was out sick... only had to write 3 papers. and she'll let you edit them for a better grade if you need to. so it is a joke class. take it for your easy A. she is nice and will respond to any questions over email you may have.

I had Professor Smith for Creative Writing. I don't like writing but I enjoyed being in her class. Very easy grader but she cancelled class a lot, which wasn't a problem for me. But overall I really enjoyed Creative Writing.

Good professor, easy grader. She lets you revise papers and takes the higher grade. Don't bother getting the book, she told us to read some stuff in it but it never made a difference. Class is cancelled A LOT, and if it's not you won't be in there the whole time anyway. TAKE HER!

Comment:
Unfortunately, she should not be a professor. Whatever love for writing may have been present years ago has now gone to a complete lack of integrity in her courses and unreasonable class cancellations. You will get an A. You won't learn a thing. With only 3 CRW professors, it is important that they are all invested. Please get rid of Luanne.
