Comment:
Dr. Garetz was a good professor but the structure of class can be improved. He really knows what he is talking about and always answer questions, which I really liked. The lecture can move too slowly in the beginning and too quickly at the end, and we were about 2 weeks behind by the end of the semester. Great guy, not as a great of a class though

TAKE HIM. He is so amazing. I never understood chemistry in HS, but man he made it feel like a breeze. Tests are very tight time-wise, but 100% possible to get an A. He is so patient as well, his exam reviews are great. Boring but well detailed lectures. 10000/10 dont even think about it, just take him.

Not going to lie, the lectures are boring and being at home makes it easy to get distracted. Past comments says that his tests were multiple choice but for me everything was free response and each question had multiple parts. I wish he gave more time considering how long his test are but I if you just pay attention you'll be fine. Pacing is key.

Literally the best professor I've had. I almost started crying on the last day of class- all class notes during lecture are posted online as well as recorded. In addition he is more then happy to further explain something to you as long as you ask. Very clear and explains each topic ranging from writing out steps to explaining the background.

Truly cares about getting his students to understand basic thermo and physical chemistry. All lectures and notes are posted online, though I highly recommend going to class. Explains concepts clearly and answers any and all questions from HW, exams, or textbook as you wish. Wish he taught all my classes!

One of the BEST profs in NYU Tandon! He writes everything on the board, which is the key things from book. Just show up and take notes you'll be fine! For Physical Chemistry I, you're allowed to bring cheat sheet to the midterm and finals. Homework is optional. His exams are fair. Everything is in his lecture or on the book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

He is one of the best professors that I ever came across. Even if you have no idea what chemistry is, going to his class and taking notes is good enough to get anyone at least a B+. If you already had chemistry before, then you should be able to get an A easily. He demonstrates cool experiments too and is very meticulous in explaining the contents.

You can't hope for a better professor for this course, effective when it comes to answering your questions or clearing up misconceptions. Just make sure that you copy down what he writes on the board and you're good to go.

Great Prof. Acts like a cheerful guy in class but in his office or hallways acts so serious for some reason. He goes through everything step by step and slowly to make sure everyone understands and stays on track. If you have any difficulty with his hw he'll help you.

have had him for chemistry 1 as well as physical chemistry. You are gauranteed at least a B if you put in effort which is pretty great for Poly. Garetz is now also the department head of Chemical&Biological science so I've talked to him many times outside of class and he's helpful and gracious.

He's a very nice and understanding professor. Give really good notes, you don't even need to buy the textbook. But I wouldn't be able to tell if he gives an easy A
