He was a little intimidating at first, but after a while you realize that he cares about students. As with any lab, attendance is required so cameras were on at all times. He does a good job at explaining material, answering questions, etc. Can seem a little aggressive at first, but in my experience, he just wants you to do well.

Arguably one of the worst professors at Tandon. A leftover from the poly days, he has an overly inflated ego, and seems to enjoy being rude for no reason. Avoid at all costs.

He is a good professor. Always answers the questions. However stubborn. He wont let you leave his zoom for chem lab. You must have to open camera. Sometimes call on people. But provides good feedback.

This professor was an absolute disaster. Professor Pollack, last minute, scheduled the final exam for 11 days ahead of the university mandated exam date. We are now cramming four chapters of material into the last week in a flurried attempt to finish early. I am told by peers that they suspect he is doing this to take an early vacation.

He is really bad with technology. He really did a terrible job explaining the material and providing help. Worst prof this semester.

Extremely rude and patronizing to any student who asks a question. Not very versed with the computer and doesn't seem to know what he is talking about at any given moment.

Every bad thing you've heard about him is probably true. However, his lectures can be helpful. But I've definitely learned more at PTC than in his class.

I actually prefer Pollack better than the other chem prof b/c pollack is more patient and goes through the material. He hates technology, but he knows his calculations by hand which is very impressive. He loves to teach and it shows in his work. However, he is from a different generation than today's students.

Has a huge ego for mediocre teaching at best. He rushed through the curriculum. He makes stale jokes. Would shut kids down during class if they asked a question he didn't like. He had a few helpful tricks but overall not a good teacher. You have to teach yourself if you want to pass the class.

Great recitation professor if you can get past his comedy- it's dry and stale and can sometimes read off as belittling you. He's willing to help you further understand any material either for lab or lecture as long as you ask and participate in the discussion. For certain lab things he'll give you the disappointed glare if you do it wrong.

LECTURE IS OK, TERRIBLE LAB. Horrible attitude. Will yell at you in labs. Cannot work computer stuff like LoggerPro so he will give out wrong instructions. Not helpful at all. I took his lecture before in CM1004 and his lecture is alright. But do not choose his lab. He's obnoxious and annoying and it really shows.

Don't take his class. Pollack thinks he is the best teacher in the world when in reality he makes disgusting jokes and fails to teach. Get ready to be glued to your textbook because he spends 4 seconds on OChem and expects you to know everything. That is kind of his style... 80% useless info, 20% him rushing through everything else.

Great lecturer, and was knowledgeable of the content. However on multiple occasions he has belittled me and harassed me, even saying "don't you think the reason why you finish lab last is because people are just better than you?". You see, that's not only hurtful, but confusing, since I hadn't earned lower than a 91 on any lab report or quiz.

Comment:
He does tend to go faster on the more harder topics than he does the basic chapters at the beginning. The homework is very good and somewhat easier to understand, mostly if you understood the lecture or are using the textbook side by side with it. The exams are heavy and sometimes confusing so study in advance or visit him and ask questions
