incredibly frustrating professor to communicate with. he did respond to a couple of my emails regarding some homework and test questions but he never answers the question you are asking, just goes off on some random topic and i ended up reaching out to classmates for help instead. helps to have a facebook group for the class

wasnt sure how this class was going to go because of Covid-style learning. but my lord it was a nightmare. all time high anxiety. while i completed all my homeworks and quizes on time, my actual earned score would be completely different to what would show up in my grades. so frustrating, emailed the professor, no repsonse. just bad.

Doesnt know how to pronounce company names correctly when he talks about markets and he doesnt know what half of them do. Dont ask him to elaborate about the tech sector - he acts like he didnt hear your question or avoids it on purpose. old school teacher doesnt realize hes doing his students a major disservice.

Super strange dude but ok as a professor. Not the kind of go above and beyond for anyone just kindof there to get the job done and go. I emailed him throughout the semester during covid for clarifications on assignments and never got a reply.

Want to boost your GPA? Want an easy A? This professor is your guy. All answers available on Quizlet + Chegg + some on Reddit. Bottom line is if you want to learn Econ, you won't. If your computer/wifi/canvas crashes during an exam, he'll make it seem like it's your fault, good luck proving that it's not.

Puts up his notes on the projector but only gives a limited amount of time to copy. Going to class is a waste of time but he takes attendance. You're better off reading every chapter of the book AT LEAST TWICE. Test questions aren't too difficult but have very trivial material in them.

I ruined my GPA taking this old school teacher. He'll make you die for the grade to post on web portal he is soooo late in everything. His tests were extremely hard and tricky the whole point of his class was all about grades NOT learning. Don't be ignoramus by his cheat sheet never helped. So many graphs with zero explanation. Not recommended.....

He goes into depth about various economic models during class time. Some of these may be hard to grasp at times, so he recommends you supplement the material with the textbook, do it. I should have done it more towards the end. Cheat sheet allowed on each exam. Final has an extra five percent added and can increase weighting if you do very well.

You have to know the material well to do well on the exams so read the book and go to class to get his handwritten notes. He allows one page of notes which really helped except for on the final since it was so hard. His grading curve also helps a lot too.

Rockland is very straightforward in the way he teaches the material, so if you don't like professors who just ramble for 20min, he is a good choice. You can use a cheat sheet for the tests and for the final. It's not super interesting but I definitely learned a lot about economic models.

Pretty straight forward with what you need to learn. If he mentions it during class, chances are it's going to be on one of the tests. Doesn't really test on anything he doesn't go over in class. I never really read the book, just listened to the lectures, but if I did I would have gotten a better grade. Allows a page of notes on every test.

He uses a projector and paper and switches the papers before you can even take notes so if you want to have a bunch of pictures on your phone of notes go for it. Doesn't make a study guide. Homework has to be done in pen or you get deducted points. Take him if you don't believe me, but you will be writing the same review I am at the end.

I liked Rockland. He allows a page of notes. The class is only based on tests. His tests require A LOT of studying to pass. He integrates a curve into his grading from the beginning since he knows the material is difficult. A lot of graphs, very little math for his class. A lot of concepts that you do have to grasp not just memorize. Textbook helps

Really nice & accessible to students - he wants everyone to succeed in his class but he uses a lot of graphs & explains the homework better after its turned in than before when he assigns it. His exams were difficult some even seemed like trick questions. He tells his classes to read every chapter twice before lectures oh and he takes attendance

All of Rocklands tests were easy and the on the final we were allowed to have a cheat sheet, so I didnt study that hard, thinking the final would be like his other tests (really easy). But no! The final was worded so confusingly and was just really difficult all around. My grade ended up dropping. He is a sweet guy, but not a very good prof.

Great professor, lectures tend to be a bit long. He handwrites out his lectures then shows slides of it in class. Attending class is not mandatory but it definitely helps. He grades on a huge curve and often grades in favor of the student (which is awesome). Definitely go by his office hours if you need help, not 100% clear but is willing to help.

Theres 4 tests including the midterm and final. only counts the top 3 which is nice. pretty tough but if you study (and go to A+) you will pass. hes a nice guy and knows his stuff but doesnt handle questions too well, he knows how to lecture. His tests are tricky because he asks for 'the most correct answer' . READ THE BOOK and do the homeworks.
