I found Whitehead to be an excellent professor. He's interested in what he teaches and wants his students to do well. Midterms were easy and slideshows were easy to follow. Recommended, just make sure to double check his math as he has a tendency to mess up his arithmetic.

Whitehead is great! He's funny and loves to use himself in his examples, but he really cares if you understand what he's teaching. He's really helpful in class and outside of class time. He even shows up to tutorials and labs to answer people's questions. His midterms are easy, and he's always willing to go over midterms with you afterwards.

Overall, Dr.Whitehead is a great prof. Very helpful and friendly. Like the other raters have said he does overcomplicate class examples and frequently makes mistakes. CAPAs are challenging but his complicated examples from class are always helpful. I would recommend his instruction to anybody with a high school Physics background.

Very nice and helpful man. Pretty funny and very intelligent. His examples are usually overcomplicated and he makes countless mistakes, usually only simple algebra mistakes but still. Very helpful if you go and see him outside of class. Tests are very easy and include most of what was taught, nothing too difficult.

SUCH A NICE GUY Tries to be as helpful as possible, but sometimes over-complicates examples. Watch out for mistakes in the examples he gives (though it's generally just errors in arithmetic). Overall, thoroughly enjoyed his class.

Good prof. Funny, but not good at doing examples. Usually overcomplicates it and spends 10 minutes doing the longest possible workings for the question, only to get the wrong answer and realise he made a mistake. CAPAs are hard, but tests are fair and part marks given out for anything.

He is a very good prof. Don't really need to go to class. Its a good idea because he does the examples on the board; they are not in the online notes. The test are really good and easy. Never erase your workings if you think there wrong, just put a X over it, if he sees something right he will give you marks for it along with the other stuff you do

Good guy. Pretty funny in class. Goes too in depth with where equations come from, ie. how to derive (derivatives) and integrate the equations. Doesn't focus on how to use them and apply them enough. His examples are good for the CAPAs but he always finds a way to over complicate them and the answers he gives are rarely correct. But he does try.

He's hilarious. He finds ways to make the most boring of topics interesting and relevant. Gives plenty of examples and answers questions clearly. Makes you want to come to class. CAPAs aren't generally hard with multiple tries and tests, while hard, are leniently marked; part marks are easy to get. Definitely recommend Whitehead for anyone!

If you get him, go see him for help, even if you don't need it. I was failing this course and I went to see him. When I passed the second test, he came up to me at the end of class (a class of around 300) and said he was proud of me. Hard course, yes, but a really great guy. He did the best he could for me, and he would for anyone else too.

Such a sweet man. Very helpful and encouraging. This course is really hard though. Made lectures interesting though when he applied physical concepts to real life and did small 'experiments.' Labs are really fun in this course though! If I were to do this course again, I would want him for a prof, but be prepared.

His notes are the worst! Unclear and hard to follow, just plain bad. Also this course is HARD and you won't get many examples with this prof. I suggest avoiding him.

Nice professor but his online notes are not clear. Brutally hard course and very few examples. He does attempt to help his students but you have to be very specific about what you need. Take careful notes of all examples and dont rely on them being provided in labs. Tests provided are hard and tricky make sure u review everything!!!

Brutal brutal brutally hard. Could be just the course that's difficult, but his very brief examples and confusing explanations certainly didn't help. I had to drop the course. I would've failed, even after scoring over an 80% in Physics 1021 last winter.

He is a nice guy and all, but he is the hardest prof I ever had. Capas are nothing like the tests, and well Brutal is an understatement for his midterms, so be prepared!! Final is a breeze because he do not make it up! good luck
