I loved this professor so much. He was so helpful and kind, extending himself whenever needed or requested. His classes were among the most intellectually stimulating and thought-provoking I've experienced. I took two classes of his plus did an independent study. He is very sweet.

He is a cross btw Richard Dryfess from What About Bob and Larry David. Easy A if you can function in chaos, really read the scrapbook of journal articles and clarify his stream of consciouness lecture. If you need the teacher to present material in an organized way in order to learn concepts do not take this class. The debates get annoying.

The worst professor and the worst class I had at Rutgers, hands down. I did happen to like some of his specialized research interests, like the particular group of people he studied (and their "Dream Time" states). But he was sometimes **** and often a total mess.

all he talks about it tribal sex. will argue with ANYONE about nothing. exams are open book + notebook, but most of the answers were, e.) none of these. he MADE the textbook himself with a xerox machine. reads of his 20-something unorganized syllabus. resembles the six flags guy on the commercials. avoid himmm.

Very hard. He doesn't follow the usual standards of an anthropology class. I passed because I got lucky and he curved it. I do not recommend this professor at all. I don't even know what anthropology is after taking this class.

the "text book" is a rip off. his lectures consist of random fragments of anecdotes, without any explanation as to why they are important or relevant. he's also really low-brow. in a class about religion, ALL we've talked about are taboos concerning ****, etc. also, apparently, we don't need to discuss women at all because they ****.

interesting material, and he's sometimes funny, but he can be rather closed-minded and mean (made some particularly disparaging and ignorant remarks about muslims). His exams are multiple choice, open book and notes, but don't be fooled, there is ALOT of material and its not as easy as it seems. also, $100 for a 60 pg xerox packet = rip off

If you want an A, do the readings, take notes, and ask questions in class. Ask what the main themes and messages are for each author/reading. It can be a lot of reading. This guy is also a little wacked out -- everything related back to sex and ****es. Tests are open book and open notes, but i recommend outlining each reading ahead of time.

honestly everything written above is the straight truth. no one is kidding. He is a very bright man. just completely out of touch. Very abrasive. exams are open book, but your better off just picking answers at random. I've had him 4 times and find him highly entertaining, just don't expect to learn anything.

Sometimes tricky exam questions and bias (i.e., strong, controversial views, generalizations), but interesting material & discussions / arguments. Exams from lectures AND reading, though basic concepts are repeated throughout course. Not hard with not TOO much work.

Very unstructured lecture...never sticks to topic. Funny at times and easy going guy but terrible teacher. Only 2 tests determine grade and they are hard. Did all of the required readings, went to every lecture, still received D's on exams. Not an easy course

He loves to laugh at his own jokes. People in my class didn't like him because of his right-wing views, get over it. I'm rather progressive, but it doesn't have to do with the class so who cares. What he talks about is on the test, so pay attention. You need to read, book is $99, which sucks. Funny

What a huge waste of time.He massacred a subject I normally enjoy. We talked about absolutely nothing of relevance and just listened to him and other pretencious students babble about nonsense. When a 45 min. discussion on urinal etiquette becomes a subject of academic importance he will be relevant.
