Professor Shampa is very nice. You have to keep up with the work she assigns, but everything is do-able and straight forward. I definitely recommend taking her.

The tests are multiple choice because of corona, and it's all based on the reading and the lectures. Super easy as long as you take notes and make sure that you do the reading. The lectures and reading are very interesting. Highly recommend if you're interested in this topic!

The professor was adequate. She understands ans respects her students in these trying times. She is sincere and cares; however, the teacher DOES assign a lot of homework readings and it can be overwhelming when you are not caught up with them. I highly recommend to read the readings when assigned, so you do not feel like ur are drowning.

The people that don't do well in her class are because they skip or tune out during lectures. Her teaching style may be different than what you're used to, being that it's completely verbal. But seriously, all you need to do is go to class and listen for when she's verbalizing anything that is a list. She gives study guides. Not a hard class at all

I was a bit thrown off by this prof's teaching style when I first attended class. Glad that I stuck w/ it! Attend lectures, they are AMAZING & you will know what to take notes on (lotsa list memorizing though). Lotsa assigned reading, but, tests are mostly lecture material-- she'll tell you specific pages that will be on tests. Just take her class!

Easy class! Have to attend bc its very verbal and she gives study guides. The study guides tell you what you have to read and study so very easy !!! Extra credit provided to attend class bc you might miss it. Didnt read everything on syllabus just read what is listed on study guide. Discussion you only have to go to 5 to get full credit.

Only lectures on the front of class -- supporting materials is around a hundred pages of reading. The reading does pop up on the tests and the class is supported by 3 tests. Honestly, very interesting class and she is a very good lecturer. I just wish there wasn't so much reading, but that was just me being lazy. :(

Lectures are verbal but interesting and easy to follow. You'll know what to write down. She'll write a lecture outline and writes down important things on the board. There's 2 mini-exams, 1 midterm, 1 final. If you don't do the readings, the exams can be challenging/difficult. SO READ! The material is easy to understand but can be a lot to go over

Great professor. If you miss lecture, you better make a friend in the class or meet during her office hours because they are purely oral and she doesn't use lecture slides at all. Not a difficult class my any means, just do what you should expect to do in any class and you'll be completely fine.

This class was HARD but enjoyable. She makes the topics easy to understand when lecturing. She does not use powerpoint slides, but she writes down the lecture outlines on the whiteboard. You have to read 50-100+ pages on average every week, so I recommend creating a study group to divide the work. She gives review sheets before exams which help!

All lecture notes are verbal presented. Must read 100 at least a week to get a decent grade. No PPT. Although she is kinda nice she made it hard for students to get a good grade. Have 4 mini exams-as she calls it. dont have projects and homework, which is neat. So if you bombed a single exam its likely you wont get an A.

Don't be tricked by this class even if it draws your attention in the beginning. Her lectures went so boring in the later of the quarter that just puts you into sleep. Required many test books. Overall not interesting lectures.

Great professor. She only does oral presentations for lectures, but it's easy to keep up. Go to class, take notes, study the pop quizzes (these don't count towards your grade) and study guide, show up to exams, pass. I went to class, never read the book (skimmed some parts for the paper) and got an A+. The TA was lenient as well. Recommend to take.

One of the best/easiest classes I've taken at UCI. I rarely touched the books assigned (except for one for a reaction paper). Her lectures are all oral but if you write down everything she says you'll be fine(It's not hard to keep up). She does offer some extra credit points and also gives you a study guide before every test. Take her if you can!

This professor is one of the best out there! Lectures are purely verbal, but she is such an amazing lecturer that you won't even notice that class is almost over. She has great charisma when lecturing or telling stories. So make sure to sit in the front! Her tests are really simple; mostly definitions and explanations. Just read and you'll do great

Tests are confusing and rely more on the books. So read. Her lectures are all common sense and not really any "new" information. You have to pick and choose what to note down because she writes down the main topic on the board and then just talks and talks and talks.

Her lectures are verbal. She writes a lecture outline on the board. Her class consists of 4 exams: 2 short exams (easy) & a midterm& final which are more difficult; short answer and multiple choice Q's. She gives a study guide week prior to exam; includes which readings to focus on. There's alot of Q's from the readings on the midterm and final.

I have taken a total of 5 of Professor Mazumdar's classes and I can say that she is by far one of my favorite professors I've ever had. Her classes are all structured the same (aside from 180A) two midterms and a final, for each you are provided a detailed study guide. Go to office hours!

By far one of my favorite professors. She rarely puts any notes on the white boards and doesn't have any powerpoints, so her lectures are purely verbal. On the positive side, she always gave a study guide which told us what to study. We're graded on 2 mini test, a midterm, and final.

She teaches like it's 1985, no powerpoint just an outline on the board and then paces back&forth while lecturing. Boring lecture, tries to make it interesting by raising her voice, doesn't work. NOT A GPA BOOSTER. Graded on 1 exam, 1 midterm, 1 paper and a final. Midt&Final include a good amount of ?'s from the reading. Paper is on a BORING BOOK!!
