Average on exam 1 was 75% on 2 was around 50% You will end up teaching yourself everything because his lectures are awful. Went to his office hours and ended up reading answers off chegg to him Test have questions that are from parts that say OMIT on syllabus RUN!

Makes midterms worth 30% of the grade no curve and then gives you practice tests that don't include 1/3 of the material, makes things sound incredibly simple and the gives supper complex problems. Virtually no office hours and is incredibly useless during them. This guy is a death sentence to your GPA don't take under any circumstance.

Mirman is abusive and has tendency to use foul language. Mirman seems to enjoy being abusive. St. Joseph's must be crazy to pay this guy.

He is not a professor . He just read out of slides and explains nothing. If you have a question he directs you at Investopedia. . Really, at grad school?

This is not a professor, he stands in front of the class, flips through the power point, skipping every problem that will be on the test!! When more than 50% of the class failed his mid-term we asked him to go over some problems for the final, his response was "I gave you the problem and the answers, what do you need me for"? Reallyyyyyy?????

I liked this teacher. He loves going over the news which can take 1 1/2 hrs of your 3 hour class. I wish it was news 30min, lecuture, then practice problems 30min. Overall a good teacher. You will have to study but this was a graduate course so that is to be expected. Do the practice problems online and you will do fine.

The finance teachers are all pretty difficult, but Mirman's intro class was not bad at all. He obviously doesn't really care, but the tests were all open book, open note, and some were even online with plenty of time to take. He also gives you free points with those case studies. There are definitely worse options out there.

Horrible class. It's really hard to take interest in a class when CLEARLY the professor doesn't care at all. He flips through the book and says what you need to know, but doesn't explain how to do anything. Maybe did 1 problem on the board all semester. Oh, and doesn't respond to email. Quite professional, right? You'll leave the class lost.

For someone who is new to finance and is NOT an accounting major, he teaches the concepts too quickly for n00bs and doesn't spend enough time doing the textbook problems which is a problem when you get the tests. He should be teaching much more upper level finance courses, not intro courses imho.

Had him last summer very easy class as long as you pay attention. Three tests throughout the course. If your an accounting major you probably already had to deal with much of this. Class is not hard at all.

Comment:
Mirman is the stereotypical disinterested college professor. During class he would flip through the textbook and tell us what pages topics were on; last I checked that is what the table of contents was for. Unfortunately the walking table of contents routine would constitute his teaching method. Avoid him if you respect the education process.

Awful, I took him for a saturday class. he reads from the book for hours. he does let you out early but has now added a class to the schedule to make up for it, so the class is going on a full month after it should have ended. Excessive assignments.

Mirman is a teacher who doesnt teach from the book more from real life examples. The tests are open book but you still need to study. He helps you if you ask and is interested in helping you learn. Lets you out early too. Overall good teacher because he cares whether or not you are learning.

Mirmin is possibly the worse teacher I've ever had at SJU. Not only does he not care about ur grades, he doesn't know how to teach to help you understand the material. The absolute worse teacher to have for a night class. NEVER take him if you have to listen for him for 3 hours strait.

this is possibly the easiest teacher i have ever had in the business school. open book tests, and the questions come from direct passages in the book. no attendence policy. has a few mental issues about the government, but its funny listening to him rattle on about nothing.
