Goldpaugh was such an amazing professor. His class was not easy, but he lets you rewrite your essays for a better grade. Very passionate about his work and really cares that you understand the material. You get out of it what you put into it

"Crazy genius" vibes in a literary sort of way. Goldpaugh is by far my favorite professor. His lectures are unique, engaging, and he's funny. Be warned though, his handwriting is illegible (I needed friends to translate his comments) and the papers he assigns are difficult. You'll need to think & challenge yourself. Ask & he'll help. Best professor

Goldpaugh is awesome. However, expect confusing assignments and deadlines. He'll let you rewrite your essays, which is always helpful, and he gives you freedom for your topics. My first class with him was tough, and I fluctuated between loving and hating him, but now theres just pure love. Will write recommendation letters for anyone who asks.

Tom is the man. As long as you give him your attention and participate a decent amount he'll like you. He's not a super tough grader, but he doesn't hand out A's often, mostly B's(+/-). Definitely take him if you can, you can get by reading book summaries, as he goes in to depth in his lectures which helps write the papers.

He'll make you work for it, but if you do, he'll make sure you get it. I've taken 2 of his classes and fluctuated between love and hate, but now that I know him I would take him again and again. Be prepared to talk to your piers and be vocal during class. Also, He'll be incredibly offensive and use rude language. Take it with a grain of salt!

Goldpaugh is like Sheldon, but for English purposes. He talks fast (sometimes super fast), but he knows a lot about English and Shakespeare! No test or quizzes; just a few papers that you can rewrite for a better grade. Highly suggest you rewrite the papers because he will definitely guide you to what he is looking for.

He's retiring, so I guess this doesn't matter too much. He's hilarious and a really fun guy to listen to. He assigns a few papers that are not too bad, but he is a bit of a tough grader, though he lets you revise all papers for a better grade. I highly recommend him if you have to take a lit class and he, for whatever reason, is still teaching.

He is an absolute genius, and he's also very quirky! If you're willing, he will open your mind to thought processes and points of view you never considered. He's definitely one of my favorite teachers of all time, however if you don't like English I wouldn't suggest taking him because he is very passionate about writing, and often very abstract.

He moves at a million miles an hour, but when he finally comes to a stop the entire class is left sitting in awe of whatever awesome thing he just revealed. Professor meetings are more than helpful. Papers are graded hard but he allows you to do re-writes on everything.

Not only was Tom's class surprising in that I went in opposed to poetry and left with a passion for it, but he was the most personable teacher i've ever had. I usually hate meeting Profs 1-on-1, but it was a pleasure with him and its when I learned the most. Missed lots of classes due to personal issues and he couldn't have been more understanding.

He's everything you could ask for in a professor. Not only he makes the class fun, he genuinely cares about your thoughts and opinion. He does expect a lot from students but he lets you revise papers and helps you make your papers better. Bottom line, TAKE HIS CLASS. It'll be one of the best classes you'll ever take.

Good teacher, very energetic, keeps the class interesting. definitely put as much input as you can, earns major points. kind of helpful as a teacher, would tell me what i did wrong but even after doing the same thing over and over, he was unclear on what he wanted changed. said my head was up my a**. very lenient with the course structure and tests

I had two lit classes w/ Goldpaugh. He is definitely crazy and has too much energy for a morning class. But he made classic lit VERY interesting and I really enjoyed and learned a ton from him. Can definitely be a tough grader on papers but if you meet with him about it and rewrite it he'll give you the A. You NEED to participate and speak up.

He is veryyy hyper and all over the place. He loves to talk and talk and talk. I thought I would love him based on what other people have said but he drove me kinda crazy. I mean hes a really good and nice guy, but his teaching style wasn't for me.
