Easiest class I've ever taken at McGill, hands down. You don't need to show up, aside to do the quizzes and go to conferences (which aren't every week). Few readings and the essays are essentially opinion based with no sources needed.

A wonderful professor who really cares about the material she teaches. Although attendance was not mandatory, going to class was an absolute pleasure and for that reason I almost never missed a class. She is always eager to chat during office hours and if you are interested in the material Marianne has a lot to offer.

What class were these other people in? She's offensive, vague, doesn't actually TEACH anything, seems to leave the TA out of the loop, and is super condescending. There are no clear guidelines for the assignments. She talks about reality TV like it's terrible and only losers watch it... if you think that, why are you teaching a class about it??

She's a super sweet lady! She knows way more about reality TV and pop culture than most of her students. She is an easy marker, but her TA may not be. You don't need the textbook hardly at all, I used one chapter and just got it on loan from the library. Lectures can be boring. Take her classes for a fun, fairly easy and relaxing course!

She's a nice lady but her classes are boring and kind of repetitive. I don't feel like I learnt much but she is a fair marker, so take it if you're looking for an easyish English class...

A highly unconventional professor for the ENGL department @ McGill because the student is expected to take responsibility for their own learning. If you show her an interest in the material, she will show you great compassion and creative leeway in return.A generous, empathetic lady with a minefield of knowledge if you take the effort to know her

super cute woman, funny and really, genuinely cares about the mental well being of her students. she gives extensions if you need them and will be there for you as long as you don't abuse it. great woman, pretty easy class. the marking on the papers depends on the TA you get.

The prof is great and I loved the course! Easy to take notes in class. However, I suggest picking a good TA because some can be tough when it comes to marking!

It's not fair to rate her TAs on her listing, but they contribute to make the course a NIGHTMARE. My TA was literally the devil incarnate - unreasonable and difficult to please. It's an easy A..if you plan on doing no thinking or analysis at all. Stick to the science read-and regurgitate and you'll ace the class.

Prof. Stenbaek is a good prof and the material covered in class is interesting. That said, the class in itself is easy, but only if you put in a minimum of work and have the teacher as your TA. The grad students were super tough and did not emphasize class material in conference. Easy exams and class is mostly science students.

This class is easy to follow, and interesting. Go to class and do the readings for a guaranteed A. The T.As are not very good so go to conferences with the prof.

Very easy, yet informative class. The professor is extremely nice and tries her best to help her students. She's also very knowledgeable. Marking English essays are always subjective and you must write really really well to get an A, but this is not her fault, that's just the way it's meant to work. She's great!

I don't know how she teaches essay writing in her conference, but her TA's were USELESS. I've never met such an english class, where extra effort is discouraged and you have to write in FORMULA to get an A. Horrible class.

Easiest 100% I've ever gotten (or probably ever will). If you intend to major in English, this course is a guaranteed A; if not... you'll still probably get an A.

This is one of those profs that everyone should have. She's sweet, charming and kind. Some people may say her course is easy, but I think you learn a lot. And a woman who tries to learn the names of her students in a class of 200 is a gem. Absolutely wonderful! Is one of the most down to earth profs I've ever had. And I loved her class.
