Comment:
Graded by a few, vague assignments with no clear guidelines on what needs to be done to get a good grade. Midterm and Final are loosely guided papers. Lectures are so boring. The prof himself is a nice guy, and I get that he loves his field, but he sucks at teaching it. The final has almost nothing to do with course content, no rubric either.

Lectures are so boring. Assignments are minimal but they are hard. He's teaching style is monotone and he doesn't explain things well. He just rambles without any real structure to his lectures

Comment:
The lecture is boring, exams hard. I try studying but the material is so unbelievably boring I can't retain any of it. It's not just his in-class lecture. He'll assign online reading that will be on the exam but he doesn't touch over all of them in class. He is very picky about how he awards points on open-ended exam questions.

Honestly a nice guy but not a great professor. Professor Henning doesn't use/post slides online and if you're not paying attention during the whole class, every class, taking good notes, the final and midterms will be rough. This class is boring and professor Henning dials far into minutia. Rough class.

Pretty easy to get an A if you do the readings and show up for class. Exams are heavily based on what he lectures. Definitely need to study for his exams a little bit to get an A. His grading is fair. Not as difficult as people say.

Dr. Henning is great at his job. Human Factors Design is by far one of my favorite courses I have taken at UConn. While the material is not necessarily "easy", it is very interesting. Dr. Henning does a fantastic job relating material to real life scenarios. I would take another class with him in a heart beat.

Comment:
There is a lot of reading for this course and it helps to read the assigned chapters BEFORE the lecture so you already have background knowledge of the material. He doesn't really use powerpoints and when he writes on the whiteboard, it's usually just one word about the topic. Make friends and study groups for this class!!

Took several courses with him, served as his only undergraduate research assistant at the time. He knows his stuff inside out, not a particularly lively lecture but everything is more than fair. Great working with him learned a great deal and has shaped a lot of my current research interets

No slides. All exams depended on his oral lecture and he was pretty specific on exams so you need really good notes. Class average for exams was usually in the 70's. He did curve and allow to argue why you chose your answers but he was very into his own ideas so sometimes he would just disagree. Would definitely take with someone else if possible.

Very ambiguous material, does not clarify what he will test on, boring, not very passionate about material, and does not seem to care about his students.

Has delusions of grandeur; self-aggrandizing; obsessed with outdated theories. Lectures are as stiff as his wardrobe.
