Professor Clinton is more interested in proselytizing students to his peculiar worldview than he is about teaching them anything about politics. The worst professor ever!

Comment:
Clinton was a terrible professor. He is rude to any student who does not agree with his worldview. He is insulting to all the students as well. For example, one time my class had not done well on a quiz. He then told us how stupid and ignorant we all were. I never took another class from him again. The class I took was required.

I learned a lot in this class, as usual. Clinton is an amazing professor, and it's been a privilege to take three classes from him. It has been one of my favorite PS classes ever. It's too bad attendance is 40% of the grade, because I ended up with an A- in the class. And a 3.9 for the quarter--ahh! Oh, so close to a 4.0 that I can't believe it.

Great great teacher. People who don't like him I feel don't take the time to get to know him. He is brilliant, and he wants you to succeed. He truly is a great teacher, he makes you think. i have learned more from him than any other teacher. If you go to class and take part in discussions, its not that hard either.

I actually agreed with most of the things he said, but he's so opinionated and condescending that I hated him and the class. He may be smart, but he's a horrible teacher.

Liberal, yes...but unbiased in my opinion. Brilliant man. I believe others have tunnel vision in their opinion of him.

Comment:
Fascinating material, but 205 is focused on a one-sided view. He wrote the textbook himself and it's loaded with opinions. As beginners we don't have enough smarts to argue our ideas, he takes advantage of our ignorance and "if your opinion is wrong [he] will tell you." too bad for people who disagree, they don't get the time of day.

Great guy. Even though his classes are extremely skewed toward his own political direction, he warns you at the beginning of each term. He's pretty much an extreme socialist, but he is not afraid to be proud of who he is.

I was expecting so much from this class, and I got everything out of it I expected. Professor Clinton is an amazing teacher. I would recommend everyone take introduction to international relations from him (PS 205) and then move on to upper division stuff from him like this class (PS 452); that is where he really shines.

He may emphasize a little too much memorization and not enough discussion, but he definitely informs students of important issues and trends. Those that don't like him are usually those that don't want to do the reading or those that already have their minds made up.

Love him or hate him...the guy makes people THINK. He compels people re-examine how they live, and what they believe in...And sometimes he gets inside a person's head to the point where that person feels guilty about their privileged status in the world. I reckon this is why people hate him.

Richard Clinton is simply the most brillian professory I have ever had. His views are very liberal, yet the facts presented in his class are all true and unbiased. He is a great professor, and this class has opened my eyes to the world I live in, as well as to political science. Hard class though.

Clinton is one of only a few professors who will challenge you until you want to throw something at him. I have never had a class so demanding and difficult, yet ultimately beneficial and rewarding. I recommend this class, and specificially this brilliant professor, to everyone.
