BEST TEACHER EVER. You will love him! Work hard, don't get offended by what he says. He is a very caring and loving teacher. He will bring your class tacos or cinnamon rolls. Trust me on this one.

This class was pretty good! There is a lot of readings, quizzes, and about 5 heavily-graded tests, but no final. The end of the semester consists of at least 10 responses about readings and a novel report. Beware, if you are not a reader, this will take A LOT of your time up! The tests are quite difficult, but not impossible to pass. Funny teacher!

Don Hammar is very kind, he will help you if you will ask. It's college, and he is an English teacher so be prepared to read. He will help you, he's loving and cares and likes to joke around with his students. You may have to be patient though because he is getting older, but he's getting wiser!

Yes he is old and forgetful but if you actually read and study the material he assigns there should be no problems. His quizzes and tests are specific so breezing over the book or spark noting it is a waste. In other words, be responsible!

Brother Hammar is a very difficult teacher to like. He is much older than other professors here at BYU-I and so he just doesn't remember things a lot and his tests are really hard. I felt like the questions were based off of his own opinion. He is a nice guy but not a good teacher.

Brother Hammar is really sweet, but he's bordering on the edge of senile. I liked taking his class and I got an A, but I didn't understand how. He's a little unclear about assignments, but after asking enough questions you can figure it out. He said attendance was very important but I skipped a lot and didn't notice any consequence.

I would avoid this professor. Class is a waste of time; 3 hours a week and I learned nothing. Nor could I do better on the following essays because he does not explain why I received the grade given. Frankly, I do not know why he hasn't retired.

As a person he is friendly, but he can't teach. He swears & has strong backward beliefs. Class is a waste of time. The homework is easy. He is confusing. If he says he won't make your class do an assignment, don't believe it. Do it anyway. If you choose a paper based on tech, be prepared to defend your work, he doesn't understand it.

His assignments are easy. Not a lot of homework. Will give A's on all your papers as long as it is clear and easy to read. Really easy grader and allows extra credit. All assignments are put into one grading pool where nothing is weighted more than the other. He is very laid back and just enjoys the students' company. He will joke a lot. Best class

He's a really funny Professor, but his quizzes and assignments are so incredibly vague when he assigns them, but he grades so specifically you are sure to get a failing grade. Sometimes he will let you re-write a paper, if you sell your soul and your genitals. We just took a quiz, and he 92 percent of the class and refuses to curve or anything. ass

I'd take a class from Bro Hammar again in a heartbeat; it's not the kind of class where you don't have to do anything, you'll have homework like any other class, but if you get it done, you'll get an A; I loved the class because he took time to talk to us, and he listened to what we had to say; learned a lot!!

He'll help you if you ask him. He's not going to hand you an A; this is COLLEGE, people. Expect to have to work a little. He has opinions and he's not afraid to share them so if you're easily offended you probably shouldn't take a class from him. I, for one, really enjoyed the class and I'd recommend him to anyone.

Loved his class! If ya do the homework you'll get an A. Nuff said. Some kids slacked off and then were ticked when their grade sucked. Their fault. Sometimes he can be confusing in class but as long as you stick to what's on the ilearn calendar you'll be fine. He's hilarious but opinionated, so don't take a class from him if you're easily offended.

Read every story and memorize every line or you wont pass the tests. Its a fun class because it's small and we don't do anything except for talk and occasionally go over what we read. I learned more from the subs than him the whole semester. class averages are around 40-60% on tests. Wouldn't recommend this class unless it's required.

Brother Hammar was an excellent teacher but he sometimes yelled at students which made me like him less but he is very funny and the class was the easiest i've ever taken. If you dont like humanities, you wont like this class.

Brother Hammar doesn't know how to teach and when we ask questions he goes on to talk about obscure things that aren't neccessary. He is sometimes rude but has a sense of humor. Horrible to understand and when you ask about the tests he doesnt make it clear on half the things on it, that we havent gon over. I would not take this class.

He's okay. Not the best but not the worst. His class is kind of random assignment-wise and we spent a lot of time watching movies. I think he needs to retire, but that's just me.
