Buckley is a great guy but it can be difficult if you are learning code for the first time. Befriend someone who knows it well and you will be ok. He makes plenty of jokes to keep things light. Go to class even if you know the skills already. Trust me!

Overall, this was a nice, easy class. Lectures were often humorous and almost always interesting. However, sometimes, they were unclear and self-contradictory. The grading for the class was pretty much entirely based on a group project, so try to get in a group with people you enjoy spending time with and work well together.

He is an amazing teacher and is really helpful when you need him. However, his grade distribution system is awful and screwed me in the long run. I recommend you pay more attention to the final than I did and you will be fine.

If you could do all of the labs, even the UNGRADED ones, then you should get an A on the exams. I don't know why the people below are saying this is an easy A. This class is a B or B+ if you have no experience programming whatsoever and an A- or A if you do. But yeah he's a really cool guy. I learned a lot of C++ and MATLAB. Yay programming!!! =)

He places an incredible amount of emphasis on his labs and its the basis of his lectures. Just remember to LOOK AT THE SYLLABUS. I say this because the labs are a small fraction of your grade and the 34 question midterm and final make up the majority of your grade so cram for them and ace them and don't stress out with the labs (but complete them!)

Personally, I have deep respect for Prof. Mike. He is the coolest prof I've come across. He's very patient and helpful. The best part about him is that he is his humility. His lectures are fun. Additionally, he greatly appreciates your inputs/ participation during lectures. Also, his course is a straight 'A' and the lightest course for graduates.

Dude is awesome. Tries to keep the class entertained through what could be an otherwise dry programming class. Really funny and approachable guy. Tests are VERY easy if you actually go to class and do the also easy labs. Likely the best professor I've had.

Mike is a good guy. His class is pretty easy too. He puts all the slides up online, which helps out a lot. There are only like 10 labs a semester, due on Fridays and as long as you start them by Wednesday, you should be good. They aren't that hard at all. Those are the only grades, along with 2 exams, and they are honestly JOKES. Good class.
