Valovick is a great teacher! He can be a bit monotone from time to time, but the classes aren't that bad. Just show up, give your input from time to time and you'll be ok. If you open yourself up to new ideas and ways of thinking, you'll have a great time in this class! BTW, if you have a chance to go on the field trip, GO!!!

Mr. Valovick won the award for being the first professor to convince me to drop a class. Who in their right mind only gives enough points available to get a 3.0, forcing you to do extra credit on top of a lot of normal classwork in order to get a 3.5 or 4.0? Do us a favor and rethink that, Mr. Valovick.

How boring!! He has a monotone voice that puts you to sleep, his grading is very different but not always a bad thing. Its alot of reading and you never know what you are really going to do in class. He wants you to think about things out side the box but never teaches how, it is mainly on what he beleives.

Excellent! His style takes a little while to get used to, but he encourages lateral thinking and is very unbiased. I ended up loving his class and the subject. Field Trip was great and he was a lot of fun! You just have to get to know him.

an almost stereotypical philo teacher, a bit prone to asking Socratic questions. very thoughtful, and wants you to be, too - no pat answers in his class. i'd gladly take him again; i like to get good grades for just thinking. :-)

Valovik is one of the most boring instructors alive. He is monotone, has strange grading habits and seems to think he's Ghandi. I would avoid him, but if you do take this class with him, you can just about argue for any grade. Email him if you disagree

He knows his stuff but he didn't always tell us what he wanted us to know, i.e. how to identify certain ethical theories. Otherwise, he was very clear and open-minded and allowed work to be turned in days late and still considered on-time. Thanks!

I am very upset that this person was glorified in the Record Eagle. While I received a 4.0 in this class, this teacher left a bitter taste in my mouth. He was condescending, close minded, and most importantly not all the Record Eagle makes him out to be
