Prof. Almon is such a genuinely nice person. He is careful with how he handles his students' poetry, humble despite his achievements, and helps create a wonderful atmosphere for his students through his sense of humour and understanding.

Was my thesis supervisor. Quietly brilliant poet who let's you take your own journey and rewards you on the personal growth you experience. If you ever have the chance to be in anything he is teaching, take it.

Ok Prof. He was very helpful and not a hard marker, and often let you choose another topic for an essay for instance. He, however, had the most horrible teaching voice, low and monotonous, and digressed from the actual subject quite often. I very frequently wondered why I even bothered going to class.

Comment:
Almon takes the Nobel Prize for the most boring and useless prof. He is never on topic in class and instead, updates us on his personal life and past teaching history of 40 years. In addition to this, he has a very monotonous voice and his writing isn't comprehensible. Urgent to all: switch out of his class ASAP.

Great prof. Genuinely concerned with helping students improve the quality of their writing. Also funny and nice, and helps make the class feel at ease in what could be an awkward class. Great class, it made me want to take more creative writing.

What could have been an interesting class ends up being a survey course. Should have been more focus on fewer works instead of looking at one author for 1 day and then moving on.

Nice guy, and funny but he easily wanders off topic. Even when he is on topic, it is difficult to tell how one work studied relates to another.

The way a Prof. should be: kind, inspiring, generous with his knowledge and his experiences. Professor Almon is, in many alumi opinions, the class act of the English Dept.

Strays off-topic/talks about biographies more than he discusses poetry. Most of us in the class find him incredibly boring and study the poetry on our own.
