He knows his stuff. I took this class cause I needed a science credit, and this class was for non science majors. If you want nothing to do with science after college this class is hard. If you want to be a science teacher you'll do great. If you love terms and a lot of terms this is the class for you.

He's blunt, has a very intimidating stare, and will yell if he gets mad! His tests are so hard, you have to memorize loads of information. I think underneath he is kind and caring, he just doesn't like to let it show. He's very funny but the class is hard. I did not like him at first, but he grew on me! If he would let up just a little... :) :)

Hands down one of the best instructors I've ever had to privilege of knowing. Tests were always a challenge but his lectures were terrific and really makes you take ownership of your learning. I took all classes he offered and would do so again any day of the week.

Definitely not an easy class by any means, but you will learn more than you every thought you would. If you have a true interest in Meteorology, you will not be disappointed, but prepare to study and thoroughly learn the concepts. You will learn or you will fail.

Jacobson is a scatter brain, but has a good sense of humor. He is very knowledgable about the subject and is more than willing to take time out of class to help his students. His tests are really hard if you don't put 110% into studying. He lectures every day, but they are super informational. If you're willing to study a lot you will do fine.

Very very helpful, very knowledgeable on the subject and passionate about it, however he expects everyone to love geo. as much as he does. Not the most interesting topics. You NEED to read the chapters he mentions in class and review notes if you even hope to get a good grade. Study a lot for his classes. Nice guy, very helpful

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! he is a very intelligent guy and is helpful if you ask, but he expects way to much out of his students. his exams are almost impossible to do well on. If you like the subject or must take this class be prepared to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! if you want to earn some brownie points make sure to ask a lot of questions in class.

He is a great teacher and very knowledgable but his tests are difficult. You really need to study notes and book. He really expects the students to LEARN what he is teaching..not just pass the class. He is a great guy and funny. Helpful, but you need to ask for the help.

Possibly the worst class I've ever had. Very knowledgeable on the subject and willing to help, however you don't know what you need to know for the test until it's sitting in front of you. Somewhat scatter brained, don't always follow what he's saying. Do yourself a favor and do not take his class.

This course is a confusing mix of formats... The instructor tests on information one must learn almost 100% on one's own.. In such a case, the course should be offered as an online class. He seems to be eager to chat with others as knowledgeable as he is, because he enjoys the subject. But he is dismissive of anyone less schooled in it than he is!

A truly great teacher who isn't teaching the class simply so YOU can pass it and move on. You really have to learn the material, attend class, read the text book, take notes, and think critically. This is slightly difficult, but mostly time consuming. If you really want to learn the material being presented, he is highly recommended.

This is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. I am a fairly good student and could barely get through this class. His labs are unreasonable and what he goes over in class is not what is always going to be on the tests. In order to get through this class you have to memorize all the chapters, do the reviews and the key terms and go over every not

VERY HARD class. Not completely clear about what goes on the exam as relation to his notes. He says he'll help you, but he's not approachable or nice. Seems to have a self-inflated attitude and talks to you in a way that makes you feel as if he's much more surperior, cause that's how he acts. Study the textbook to death literally, or you're doomed.
