He is very clear on every section, he is one of the best Calculus teachers I've had. He gives 15 or so pop quizzes and they are pretty hard. His practice tests he hands out before the test are almost EXACTLY like the real test. So do them and you'll do pretty well

Great teacher. If you do the work, you should do well. Works with students if they have to miss a test for a good reason. Ask for an old exam before each test. They are usually nearly the same, just different numbers and some slightly different problems.

Very good teacher, extremely helpful, really nice guy, and I have to say he is one of the best teachers I've had at Tech. Pop quizzes are given about 2 times a week, and he drops your lowest third of them. 4 tests and a final, you will have to study, his tests are pretty tricky.

He is a verry helpful teacher is you go to his office. He also allows you to use a scientific calculator on tests. He gives partial credit and is very fair in his grading. Overall I liked him alot

Very good teacher. Very helpful too. What was most amazing was he taught the entire semester without msking a single error on the black board. The test were not bad, very similar to the practice tests he hands out. The final was kinda tricky, but i also didnt study as much for it.

Have to say, savage is a talented mathematician. When you see him, its like looking at Goober, and it seems out of place. His quizzes are pretty fair, but his exams are brutal, especially the final. You could say they are...savage. I have no problem with math and got an ACT Math score of 32, still got a D in this class. Take someone else.

Dr. Savage is a great teacher. He's really clear with his examples and if you ask him about even a small bit of an equation, he'll work it on the spot. He gives one question quizzes that are always about what had been covered in class a few days before. His tests are fair with a practice test to take home before each one. But the final was BRUTAL!

Tests were hard and he does not give a lot of partial credit. Pop quizzes are given with the difficulty ranging. Did go over the homework every day and gave the opportunity to ask questions, but I suggest taking this class from someone else if given the opportunity.

Dr. Savage is a true gentleman. He is very knowledgeable in what he teaches, yet his demeanor is never condescending if approached properly. If you try in his class and he sees the effort you are putting into it, he is always willing to help however possible. Neither easy nor hard, but definitely takes work. It is worth your while to get to know hi

Not a great teacher. In my mind, he didn't explain things very well and almost left it up to the students to learn themselves. Tests were tough.

I loved this class.Savage always smiles and is in a great mood, and ALWAYS willing to help. The material is common sense.Do the study guide for the test and do the HW every night. if you don't and fail, whose fault is that? Easy Test. Pay attention when he says like "no voting system will satisfy all the criterian" it will likely be a true or false.

Wow- well the semester started off good but then the test became crazy - no matter how much I studied there would always be stuff I'd never seen before on the tests! AKA the tests kill you! Very nice person - but the tests - ouch!

Savage is an excellent professor! He always explains the material very well and will go into more detail if you need him to. He does give pop quizzes about twice a week (he drops 1/3 of them), but they are usually easy and make up a good test grade. His tests can be tough, but overall he's great.

"What else should we talk about?" You will hear this asked by him in each and every class. It was tempting to reply "how about flatulence?" He is simply too polite to want to offend though. The course itself can be quite daunting, but he's quite effective at illustrating the more complex concepts.

A great professor. Does an excellent job presenting the material and trying to make sure everyone understands every step that is done. Quizzes aren't usually too bad, but I had a hard time on some tests. Be ready for the quizzes and all the tests.
