When I saw that the grade would be determined by 2 things- the exam and a paper, I was scared. But he gives you the tools you need to succeed. I always learned a lot during his classes even when I dozed off. He's understanding and just an amazing professor. If you take him, you're lucky.

Love Professor Rose! If it were up to me, I would take all my classes with him. I hope I got to learn from him in my freshmen year because YOU CANNOT GET THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE HE GIVES, ANYWHERE ELSE! Super encouraging gives you the time you may need in his office hours without any hesitation. You can tell he loves and respects his students.

I changed my major to polsci because of this class. He reminds me of an evangelical preacher only he argues all sides of things and makes you think about what you really stand for. has a way of explaining things that makes it easy, so the class was pretty easy. Very funny too. Loved this class.

grading was determined by only two things so if you're ok with everything falling on a paper and an exam this class is good for you. professor is very opinionated and will berate students for their own beliefs. i suggest not disagreeing with him in order to get a good grade.

One of my favorite professors I've ever had. I took as many classes with him as I could. He is so enthusiastic and cares about if you do well. He clearly REALLY knows what he is talking about and makes classes that I usually find boring into my favorite classes. His lectures are so funny and he gives so much life to the material.

Professor Jason Rose teaches an easy-to-pass, basic political science course. To be generous, it is very... introductory. The professor berates the average voter for being stupid, sows distrust in the media and their data, and goes on to present long-discredited libertarian economics as uncontroversially true. Easy but painful to sit through.

His class is very easy, and he even said that "if you cant get an A in this class, you dont belong in college." He is very passionate and animated-- however, if you actually pay attention to what he is saying, a lot of it is very problematic and not even directly related to what is going to be on the exam. He is a contrarian, and overall quite rude

Professor Rose is fair in what he expects from his students: show up to class and dont talk. Going to class is recommended because unannounced pop quizzes are given, and professor does not allow you to make them up. Otherwise, the class itself is fun, inspiring, and he makes the lectures easy to understand.

Rose really is a very personable and likable man. He knows how to connect to us and relate. What I like most is how he thinks of analogies and examples that would better our understanding of a subject. His quizzes are easy if you payed attention to the lecture, and sometimes he assists in the answers. Hilarious and makes you look forward to class:)

He grades papers for grammatical errors rather than content. I was never aware that an upper level political science course would emphasize grammar as the main assessment to check for understanding of internal relations. While he informed me to "put more effort", the other POL courses had no problems with my writing at all. Overall, rude man.

AMAZING class! Best online class! Prof. Rose reads EVERY word of your papers and sends them back for improvement. He is very tough grading the papers, but he lets you write multiple drafts to get to an A. This class vastly improved my writing and vastly improved my knowledge of International Relations. Extremely rewarding and fulfilling course.
